Thanks for such a fantastic scanning application. One question: I am using an Epson Perfection 1640, which has a scan button. I was wondering if it can be used to tell VueScan to perform the scan or preview.

I have a user we just converted to OS X.
He has an older SCSI Agfa Studiostar. No one seemed to support this software in OS X. I started downloading Scanner software and seeing if anything would work with this scanner. VueScan was the only one that did!
Installed it and it just worked. -

I emailed a feature request on May 11th, receive a reply on the same day to say that he will look in to it. Lo and behold! on May 14th the revised program is released and it works flawlessly (Lamp control on Astra 6400). To Ed Hamrick I say- superb application and outstanding technical support, thank you. -

I've used this with several different devices now, most notably a Nikon LS-40 film scanner, a Umax S-6E flatbed scanner, and a Canon PowerShot G3 digicam.
It works flawlessly with all; the batch scanning options are great time-savers.
The biggest thing I've noticed, though, is how much less post-processing I'm doing of photos. Especially on the Nikon film scanner, the photos I'm starting from are of markedly higher quality.
This program is very powerful, and its options are such that it will do nothing but speed your workflow.
Only gripe: the interface, while nicely Carbonized, is still rather slow to respond and has some spacing issues. Otherwise, though, a great program. -

Unless this product is aimed only at high end scanners, it is too expensive. Since it supports low end models, I assume this is not the case. Update rate is admirable or frenetic. Works very well, whatever the price. -
"Slow & Crippled"

I needed this to do one thing while I was out of town: scan my daughter's birth certificate so that it could be sent to me. It took a couple of minutes for each of the preview and final scans. Then the final scan has dollar signs ALL OVER IT!! -- Unreadable => worthless! I'll be scanning in OS9 when I have to -- it's cheaper and faster. -

If you have a scanner that doesn't have drivers for OS X the chances are this app supports it. Everybody needs VueScan!
