"Not too bad"
Version: VoxOx 2.0.6.2150
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've only used the text chat feature since I already have Ooma for phone calls. That feature works quite well. I did make at least one phone call to see how that worked and I encountered no problems. I especially like the way it integrates with Facebook. -
"A truly visionary unified communications product!"
Version: VoxOx 2.0.6.2132
Pros
I like that it breaks outside the restrictive nature of other communication products. Most products that offer social integration or IM do not have phone functionality built in. Those that have phone functionality seem very limited and closed.
Cons
A few bugs, but way less than a year ago and so much great functionality I use it every day. Would be nice to be able to change the color and to have native skype functionality and a mobile version.
Summary
I wrote a review in the past which was favorable, and since then this software has continued to improve and impress me in many ways. There seem to be very few bugs now (understandable as a beta), and vastly improved / enhanced functionality. Anyone who has watched this product mature over the last year will know what a wonderful set of features it has, and what a time and money saver it is. All I can say is that I am glad I have voxox and I have mostly stopped using Skype or any other communication software because nothing else even comes close.

"Crashes on start"
Version: VoxOx 2.0.6.2132
Pros
Used to work
Cons
doesn't work
Summary
I can not get it to run. It started crashing about 2 updates ago and the latest one crashes on startup as well.
OSX 10.5.8 -
"Unreliable performance, unreliable support"
Version: VoxOx 2.0.6 beta
Pros
It may eventually offer competition for Skype and Gizmo.
Cons
VoxOx more or less worked on 2 Macs for just a few days. It lost connection and needed rebooting from time to time. Then it stopped working altogether. It can connect a call, but there is no audio either direction. No VO support response in a week.
Summary
Simply stopped making voice calls in a few days. No response to support request. No meaningful support forum. No useful troubleshooting FAQ.
I should have mentioned that when I tested incoming calling to VoxOx, a dialog appeared insisting that Growl be installed (but not explaining what Growl is). Whether I clicked on "install" or "cancel" this dialog would not disappear until I force quit VoxOx, and it still didn't cause an incoming call to be answerable. Now I see that Growl is installed on my Macs, but I don't know if it has the potential to do my system harm, or even if I can safely remove it.

"Intel Macs Only"
Version: VoxOx 1.0.0
Pros
Looks cool.
Cons
I haven't used it, because as of November 10th, this program will only run on Intel Macs.
Summary
"For Mac" implies universal in my book. Not so here!
