It's beyond me, how come so many users report problems with this software. The installation procedure in itself states clearly to users that they need to follow the instructions to the letter. Read before you install. It looks great, works great and it even rectified some probs I had been having. Internet Explorer 7 was taking a lot of time to load before installing VTP7. Furthermore, I found that WinXP takes shorter time to load when starting.
As for Windows Blinds (which btw, you don't have to install before VTP), I found it complicated to set with too many parameters. Some other similar applications I used on trial such as that of ChimeTV, which was in Beta edition and not supported anymore, were causing probs with Windows Explorer. I am now using the Visual Styler which comes in Ashampoo Optimizer 4. It's a very cheap app and it's very handy for loads of other functions like tiding up your Windows. The only thing is that you're gonna have to manually add the Visual Styler in the Startup menu so that it loads on Windows startup.
And believe me, it won't slow to the slightest your OS. Quite the contrary.
However, you will need to play around with the VTP welcome center to get the grasp of it. The options found there will produce different effects.
GREAT WORK for FREE! Can't wait for VTP8!!!

The only con was that VTP messed up with my Media Center. When I tried to open it I was getting a message that the MCE validation key was tampered with. A windows update rectified this problem and now everything works fine.
