"Works perfectly with Windows 7 too."
Version: Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover 2
Pros
It works with Windows 7 just as easily as it does with Vista.
Cons
The programmers should update the name of this program so people will know that they can also use it with 7.
Summary
I used this when I had Vista and it worked perfectly, after I upgraded to 7, I was a little hesitant to run it again because of its name, but it worked perfectly, just as easy as it was with Vista. One thing though, it seems to have slightly altered my computers default font. Not necessarily a bad thing, and hardly noticeable, it just looks slightly different.

I installed the app. Ran it and it asked me to log out. When doing so I got an error message "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application ... The system cannot find the file specified". Tried to uninstall and reinstall. Same thing. Great idea, doesn't work on my Vista64 Home Premium

"Worthless Garbage, 1 star is way too high of a rating"
Version: Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover 2
Pros
NOT a durn thing
Cons
Corrupted: System Startup, (Failed to Start), Norton 360 (turned OFF All Protection), lost live-update function, lost Windows Updates. Didn't fix anything, caused more problems than it's worth. Screwed up icons in taskbar. Syntax error detected.
Summary
Syntax error, (file missing). Program corrupted: System Startup, Norton 360, lost Windows Vista Updates. Wouldn't recommend this product even to an enemy. Someone didn't test this product thoroughly. Should be recalled and scraped.

"Program superb. Does what says on box."
Version: Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover 2
Pros
Have used earlier versions for years. Desktop and icons look the way they are meant to.
Cons
Have recently installed 64bit OS. Now Vista Overlay Manager doesn't work.
Summary
It's so simple it's brilliant. Unfortunately, I can't use it; keep getting error message "unhandled exception has occurred. System cannot find the file specified."
It seems that it is only for use on a 32bit OS.
Please let me know if there is a 64bit version. -

"Needs a Fix"
Version: Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover 2
Pros
Unable to determine.
Cons
Error when using Vista Business.
Summary
I'm sure it's a great program, considering the testimonies, so I gave it 5 stars.
However...
An "Unhandled Exception" occurs when trying to use this program on Vista Business (64-bit). I've heard the same thing from several other people. It would be great if this could be fixed... but for now I'll have to fudge with the registry in order to get rid of that annoying shortcut arrow.
Why doesn't Microsoft give the user an option to do that in the first place?
