"Windows XP runs very fast inside VirtualBox."
Version: VirtualBox 4.0.2
Pros
I can use programs not compatible with Windows 7 64 bits inside Virtualbox, or programs that can conflict with others. Or just use for testing software to keep Windows 7 cleaner.
Cons
There may be some minor cons.
Summary
In a video conversion test that I made, Windows XP inside VirtualBox was only 36% slower than Windows 7 64 bits.
Install the Guest additions (straightforward) to define shared folders/partitions to change data between host and guest.
For non-pros like me: using this software is more easy than you can think about at first glance. -
