Version: Virtual Desktop Toolbox 2.72.4
Pros: very quick in switching between desktops. i like the virtual screen feature where you can arrange your desktops to your liking. very powerful. i haven't tried the others yet but i'm certain this is the best in its class!
Cons: a little tricky to learn the user interface, but would be well worth it once you get the hang of it.

Version: Virtual Desktop Toolbox 2.72.4
"Works Perfektly! Perfektly! Perfektly! Per..."
Pros: Lots of features, well designed, easy to use and understand interface. Allows you to extend you desktop as far and wide as you want. It's almost a dream come true, were it not for the nightmares!
Cons: 1. it a feature called "rolling desktops." Sounds cool. DO NOT TRY IT! Once on it just goes and goes (etc.) like the energizer bunny. The 'feature' automatically changes from one desktop to another every x # of seconds. So you're working on something and bloop you're not. Sending an email, NOT! Talking to a friend, then... well it gets frustrating. There are settings to turn it off, doesn't work. There are setting to set the time delay between screen changes, I set it at 31000 seconds (@ 8 hr.s) to try and make it less frustrating. No help. Finally my laptop was damaged when I shot it.
2. They made it needlessly complicated. Virtual Desktop should be simple right? No. They have desktops, Virtual desktops, Virtual screens, Non-virtual desktops, Non-Virtual desktops, sub-desktops, different subsets of the combinations, some have full windows capabilities, some partial... I'm sure it's well thought out and will serve the developer or tech person well. However some of us just use a PC as a tool, want to get work done, and get done. I do not have 1/2 day to spend tweaking all of the different settings or messing with why my non-virtual sub-desktop might work better if it was a virtual desktop as a subset of a non-virtual screen set. Perhaps you do.
3. Other than the screen changing and being slightly over complicated it ran well. Please don't let my being in a bad mood scare you away from an otherwise good product. Might work for you! :)

Version: Virtual Desktop Toolbox 2.72.4
"Overly complicated - many features that are nigh useless to the average user"
Pros: Free. Very flexible interface. Ability to customize just about anything.
Cons: Requires several hours to configure with a simple setup. Unable to easily switch applications from one desktop to the other (no drag and drop unless you use the special 'desktop explorer' and then, it works imperfectly - goscreen is better)

Version: Virtual Desktop Toolbox 2.72.4
Pros: This is a master piece on my computer. Go to their web site, they released a 2.60 version that includes a top bar: fast and powerful.
Cons: Nothing
