"Once I found this, I've used it exclusively."
Version: VideoCacheView 1.72
Pros
I've used it in both Chrome and FF but mostly Chrome
Cons
Maybe not the easiest interface to use.
Summary
I was able to capture video uploads on youtube that later went temporarily private immediately after viewing. It was nice to be able to enjoy the videos again even when they were suddenly no longer available. It's really a "5" to me personally regardless of the UI.

"Great for a Free program"
Version: VideoCacheView 1.65
Pros
easy to use
light program
provides the basic function nicely
recovering files from the cacheCons
Buggy at times
lack of support for Fire Fox
No "delete from list" function
no to little support when things go wrong (no technical guide to help/troubleshoot)
no save feature (as stated from CNET editor)Summary
first of all UI is rather easy to use as the commands are relativity straight forward and doesn't require extensive set-up and I found that you can just run the program without having to configure anything to get it work to function specification ("downlaod" from cache) but due to the simplicity of it's nature, it takes very little space on the harddrive and little space on the RAM and barely nudges the processor (@2Ghz duo)
the problems (cons) that I stated are rather minor however it would be nice to have a "delete from list" as it does get rather messy after a while and instead of "saving" you copy the file to a location of your choice on the computer or computer network and one final point, dont bother looking on the developers website for solutions to problems you can contact if you want however I do not know if he'll respond or not.
The biggest of all problems of this program is the support for FireFox where I quote "If you want to play/save files from the cache of Firefox, you must close all windows of firefox, because only when you close them, Firefox saves the cache data into the disk." which means that 10% of the time the files are incomplete, corrupted or you may not get the file that you want however I found that it's possible to get files from FF while operational but it causes a memory leak and will overflow the RAM thus crashing the computer
All in all, if you want a program that isn't a browser add-on and can download any video from any website without any use of corporate company software this is for you, now excuse me I have some more downloading to do :D
