Version: Venture Arctic 1.01
"Sorry, I just can't support this game as much as I like Indies!"
Pros: Nothing. Music is repetitive and boring.( The graphics are poor at best compared to what else is out there. Strategy-nonexistent. Oh wait. One pro: somewhat less buggy than Venture Africa! I guess practice makes perfect - sort of!
Cons: Ok, let's look at this seriously. I played Venture Africa based on its good reviews. I was not impressed. On Sunday, it was a slow day, so I decided - reluctantly to try it out. Again, not impressed! Now, I?m probably a huge indie/casual gamer, and I like strategy games, so one should take that into consideration. But in this game, well, let?s say the strategy was absent. The levels were basic, boring (and the graphics/and or ?art? if you call it that was well below today?s standards ?I?d call it 1999 style!). I mean, some people say that this game is not ?money? driven, but hello ? let?s look at this ? you?re collecting ?spirits?! What do you think the ?spirits? do for you? Exactly ? what money would do in any other sim game. As for music, well, as even the hot reviews claim, its repetitive ? and frankly, turn off the music doesn?t do it for me. It?s low budget sound, which, since the sound in VA was bad, is not surprising again. Plot-well, this falls into the strategy category. There isn?t any. And as for the whole global warming theme ? seems like the company is trying to cash in on the whole ?green? movement, which I guess is alright, because everyone has to make a buck, but is still a little cheesy in my opinion. So let?s be frank. Bad graphics, bad plot/strategy, and bad music all make for a not so good game. For indie casual gamers, I?d recommend lots of other stuff. But not this. Thanks for listening!

Version: Venture Arctic 1.01
Pros: This game is definately for someone who is sick and tired of money based sim games. The graphics are adorable and the gameplay easy to master. There is certainly enough variety on the different levels to keep everyone in the family entertained.

Pros: Software was somewhat buggy, but not as bad as other independant products.
Cons: So, I was intrigued by all of the reviews/back and forth about the game when I came across it. I had to try it...and...frankly...the low reviews are right! I'm going to be quick: bad graphics (don't know what the last reviewer meant about art, but since I'm a visual person, and the graphics are bad, I'm gonna say, not really good art IMO), bad sound, bad plot. This whole "concept" of "managing" an ecosystem by collecting spirits - maccab, yes. Good science and learning, no. I was bored early on and often; I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under any age.

Version: Venture Arctic 1.01
"A fun and highly original concept"
Pros: The graphics, although nothing compared to Zoo Tycoon 2, still carry about a certain type of style. They are modelled after real Inuit art. According to some of the negative comments here, it seems that graphics are everything. Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania had great graphics, but that didn't save it from being a HUGE disappointment (for me at least).
Also, I love the gameplay. Collecting spirits is fun and unlike other Sim Games, completely and permenantly running out of money is not an issue.
The music is a beautiful re-working of Vivaldi's four seasons. I am a huge fan of Vivaldi and I'm very pleased with this. Some people here found it repetitive. I have a solution. TURN IT OFF STUPID! You'll find it in the options menu. Don't whine about it when it can be solved.
The educational value here is great. The animals' lifespans, gestation periods and litter sizes are all true to real life data.
With other tycoons, after you've built your zoo/restaurant/park/hospital - there's not much else you can actually do. Venture Arctic has more than enough replay value.
Cons: If I had to list some cons, I'd have to say that I wish there was a freeform mode , but it doesn't really matter. Also there were too many goals, but apart from these minor flaws, this really does exceed its hype.
