"Might be good if I had a super power computer!"
Version: Vegas 7.0b build 151
Pros
Took me a while to learn through trial and error- would be nice to have a "getting started" tutorial. (I was capturing) Never got around to editing - see "con" section.
Cons
avi files are HUGE (gigabytes) for a 3-4 minute video of a band. Many times it did not capture or play back the sound. Took an hour to build the sound in edit mode.

"Great Video Editing Program"
Version: Vegas 7.0b build 151
Pros
Effects, good quality rendering, reasonable price (kinda, lol).
Cons
My version of this doesn't support .avi files.
Hard to learn at first.Summary
This is a very good video editing software.
Way better than Windows Movie Maker.
It is fun to use, too.
Though, it is NOT recommended for beginners, since it's hard to use for them. -
"It's really attractive, but the cons over throw it!"
Version: Vegas 7.0b build 151
Pros
The effects are really amazing and so are the effects. The timeline is very adquate because you can belong a clip and how you can make a clip go faster just by clicking "propteries."
Cons
It's way to expensive. No way it's worth it and no way people that think the program is helpful would ever buy it because of the money. It's not the problem, it's the money. There's also no "zoom" for the clip!
Summary
There's only two reasons why would not recommend this program and why dislike it: It's to expensive and you can't make the clip "zoom" in. The only thing that have seen for any time of zooming in is the spherize effect and that's not even that helpful to zoom into the clip. There's another annoying thing about the program; whenever you imprt media it goes into the timeline. GR!!!!!!
In addition, if was an complete moron would buy this program even though do like it in some ways. The timeline was easy to figure out, but it did take me some time about crossfading. So, almost two minutes into the film every transition in the background has been black or something, then played around with it and finally figured it out. The transitions are pretty awesome, but some are kind of not so good or well not for my film. My film has to be fast paste, so need something funky fast paste awesome transitions and luckily you guys put some in. The effects are pretty helpful, but honestly some are just inadquate and just dumb. Some of the effects were awesome and left me dumbfounded for a second, but others were like "OMG that is so stupid!!" (Same with transitions) Now some effects were the ones that were looking for, but others wasn't really looking for. However did use them asnyways - just not the stupid ugly looking ones. What's up with so many colored effects, if you plan on putting colors in transitions make it the background instead. Used the same transition after a few clips (you know for some special looking effect type thing) and it came out brilliant, Not finished with the video, however. Absulotely love how you can speed or clow down clips, but could you people like put things into videos that aren't there such as put some parts of another clip in into ther clip you are editing. It would be so sweet (that's what really actually wanted to do.)
Anyways overall it's pretty cool.
Can't wait till my video is finished!!! -
"best editing app available"
Version: Vegas 7.0b build 151
Pros
Great display, easy to use once apart from nothing being labeled. Tons of effects and transitions to choose from, also a very wide support for file extensions I've noticed a lot of other editors don't recognize as many files on my pc as vegas does.
Cons
Doesn't support H.264 h.264 quicktime codec, but it's alright since there's tons of alternatives in a variety of different extensions.

"Above Average"
Version: Vegas 7.0b build 151
Pros
Great editor, very flexible; it might be a little complicated at first, but the user will get the hang of it sooner or later. Recommended for a wide range of needs if using XP/Vista.
Cons
Could've offered so much more, many people complain about not enough effects or transitions to choose from. This program is not recommended for use by those who have not used a nonlinear editor before.
