    "Terrible Business"

    March 17, 2014  |   By suzyque123

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.7.009 beta

    Pros

    Easy to set up

    Cons

Terrible customer service. They take money from your credit card for fake calls. You can`t talk to anyone and they steal from their customers.

    Summary

Stay far away from VBUZZER. There are lots of other providers who do not scam like this.

"2.8 beta works a while with windows 7"

    April 11, 2013  |   By anthony_huang

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.7.009 beta

    Pros

Sound quality is only a tad worse than Skype which means it is excellent. Especially calls from North America to Asia works perfectly

    Cons

even version 2.8 works buggy within Windows 7 (64-bit): after recent MS update (April 10th 2013) the Vbuzzer software crashes everytime I log-in and call up my account details

    Summary

Please fix immediately for Windows 7 to ensure your competitiveness against Skype

    "Bad product, worst service"

    August 15, 2011  |   By alve01

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.6.022 beta

    Pros

None, over Skype. They supposedly have better rates, but what's their purpose if they are for a service that doesn't work.

    Cons

No technical support: email addresses or phone numbers.
In-house ticketing that they don't answer.

    Summary

If you don't want to throw away money, don't use any of their paid services.

    "VBuzzer's (Softroute) deceptive marketing practices"

    August 31, 2010  |   By iceman678

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.5.284 beta

    Pros

Absolutely nothing about this company is praiseworthy. They are scum and their products reflect this.

    Cons

They charged my credit card illegally as well as deceived me on their misleading marketing emails about giving away free $5 of calling. Needless to say, there was nothing free about it.

    Summary

They asked for my credit card to prevent people from opening multiple fake account (which seems reasonable at face value) but then charged my card without my knowledge or consent. They then refuse to refund my money on the grounds that I had used the free $5. They say that my account gets auto-recharged with money they put in from my credit card so that I can make more calls. This is supposedly done for the customer's convenience! Isn't that just amazing?! They charged my card without my permission or knowledge and it is supposed to be good and convenient for me. In fact, that is quite a convenient and illegal way for Vbuzzer to generate revenue. There is no way on the VBuzzer site to stop these auto-recharges.
In accordance with the Privacy Act, I requested Vbuzzer to remove my credit card from their servers immediately, which they have not done nor have they replied to my request.

"Complete SCAM... Stole money from me."

    July 25, 2010  |   By typicalhero

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.5.284 beta

    Pros

Nothing... I don't know what they are, charges appeared on my card from their company, they WILL NOT respond to me or refund my money.

    Cons

I will be getting a lawyer and figuring out how they can get away with this.
They banned my email address so now I cannot get a hold of them. Wicked thieves!!!

    Summary

SCAM!!! CNET BE AWARE. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD AND WILL BE CHARGED WITH IT. SPREAD THE WORD, BE CAREFUL!
Now my fight begins to get back the money they stole from me.

"Be careful before giving them your credit card details"

    May 30, 2010  |   By jsebastian_sa

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.5.284 beta

    Pros

    None worth mentioning

    Cons

    these guys cannot be trusted

    Summary

Whatever you do, don?t opt for the monthly plan ? the only way you can do this is by authorizing an automatic recharge on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. When you sign up they tell you that you can cancel the plan when you want. But when you actually get around to doing it there is nothing more difficult. I had to try to contact them repeatedly by email and after taking their sweet time with it they dropped the bombshell ?this is an annual contract and you cant cancel it ? if you really want to cancel there is a cancellation charge of 39.99!?

Honestly I went through the terms a couple of times before subscribing and nowhere had they mentioned anything like this. I am sceptical of companies as it is but I never expected barefaced fraud like this from a seemingly reputable company. Desperate times perhaps but totally unethical/ illegal in my view.

My credit card issuing bank was nice enough to block them from endless recharges but they had to issue a new card to do this, totally needless expense for the bank. Apparently this was not the first time they had such a complaint.

My sincere advice is not to touch them with a barge pole.

    "FAX is not FREE!"

    March 31, 2009  |   By rwalden

    Version: Vbuzzer Messenger 2.5.194

    Pros

The software installed easily and effortlessly.

    Cons

This is primarily for Instant Messaging, and not internet telephony. Had to search their web site for info on how to use the FAX. You have to pay $25/year to have a (416) phone number assigned to your account which enables send/receive FAX.

    Summary

Rather childish-looking interface. If you're looking for a (FREE) VoIP internet FAX program that works similarly to the more sophisticated PC telephony programs that run over a modem and phone line, this ain't it! Keep looking....

    Updated on Sep 4, 2011

Remnants of VBuzzer seem to linger and cause problems even after disabling it (or deleting it)!
