"Plays some corrupted files."
Version: VLC Portable 0.8.6h
Pros
VLC will play almost anything. Its very good at playing quite a few obscure formats, even when they are mildly corrupted. I believe VLC can also do frame-by-frame analysis. It can also do slow motion, which is nice.
Cons
The large number of features are quite confusing to use some times. Its difficult to get the skip buttons to skip the appropriate times, but can be done with some effort. While it can play corrupted files it can't seem to actually fix them.

"A true icon in portable software."
Version: VLC Portable 0.8.6h
Pros
Light weight, easy to use, simple, powerful, efficient, free. VLC portable really knows how to get the job done, and can travel anywhere without you without needing to install it! Simply beautiful.
Cons
Like any portable program designed for such things as flash drives (thumb drives) is the speed. When using a full version of software the speed with be presented at its peek; but as a portable version you will find some speed issues in loading.
Summary
What can I say about VLC, II mean it's free to use, and can be installed on any operating system. The Beauty to VLC is it's ability to basically play anything media related (video or audio). It's no different with the portable version either.
If you ever find yourself somewhere in a situation where a media file has to be played. Ops only problem is the computer at hand doesn't have anything that will run the media file, and you can go installing 6 gig programs into it; not practically anyways. So what do you do? You throw a copy of VLC Portable onto a flash drive, pop it into the system and your ready to go.
So I won't go in deep with this summary but lets face it; VLC Portable is just as powerful as the standard edition, and can preform all the same task. VLC has seen over 175 million downloads and is one of the worlds most trusted freeware software there is.

"EXTREMELY PLEASED"
Version: VLC Portable 0.8.6h
Pros
Small program yet big on satisfying.
Cons
You won't find any with this program.
Summary
I look for something that works, I could care less what the program's interface looks like. To me plain and simple is better than something that is beautiful to look at and doesn't deliver. VLC Portable 1 delivers! Thanks to all of those involved in the creating of this program.
