for a media player this offers so many different functions and interfaces. you can just customize the way it looks and feels. What is all nice is you can use it in place of a dvd burner since it has a record feature built in. Works on Vista

have never found any. Can be a little overwhelming if you dont get a feel before actually using after downloading. But doesn't decrease my rating.

Continued.... The record feature is nice if you want to copy to your pc then convert either with vlc or another program. It does seem a little comfusing from not looking at all the configuration possibilities but it is aa light weight excellent media play. You can watch in 4:3 , 16:9 or customize the size. has full screen option but I recommend if you want it to take up full screen without the border use it in 16:9 when in fullscreen. Whether you use the portable version or the full version, you can not go wrong with it. So many other media players but I yet to find one that does at least 75% that this does. Some formats I have not been able to play but for flv swf it has worked fine. the only other media player Iwould suggest if you decide you don't like this one is, GOM. I have both and either are good for different reasons.

VLC will play virtually any media type. The portability aspect has many uses.
Cons
Portable apps are prone to causing an error requiring exit from the program (at least). VLC has fewer of these errors today.
