Summary
I had to restore my computer and when I did, the sound did not work. After searching and trying my computer's manufactor's web support (which was a waste of time) I was just as confused as ever. I've used this site a few times before for different things, and decided to give this driver a try. I'm not a genius when it comes to computers, but I do know a little.

The problem that I have with "wave" is a hissing- repetetive disturbance, which is removed on a temporary basis with wave "off"

Pros
Does what it says it will do: works with drivers I need for my computer configuration (I have chipset) to give best sound quality for my applications.
Cons
Have to reinstall/update any sound app/driver after installing the VIA program (took me awhile to figure this out)
Summary
It does what it says it will do, does not take up much room on the computer, does not need to be fiddled with every time I boot up - basically user friendly.

Pros
Followed procedure by rachjsc above with exception that a second running of SETUP was required after an error was experience after the first.
Cons
None so far.
Summary
Issue occurred after Windows XP Pro was installed in Windows 3 directory to clear a virus issue. No sound was experience dut to absence of Audio Device. All regular drivers were there. Solved my problem smartly.
