Ever had such an annoying message given by Windows: Cannot delete file: Access is denied. There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use or the file is in use by another program or user. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use. Unlocker is the solution. Unlocker is an Explorer extension that allows you with a simple right-click of the mouse on a file or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it is used by another person or program.
What's new in this version: Version 1.9.1 has fixed all references to previous website in UI.

"Awesome little tool"

Pros
What a space saver this little utility. Very excited about using it and it working like a charm. Got rid of a lot of lingering updated crap that I couldn't delete myself. And believe me I tried everything. Oh yeah.
Cons
None so far as of this date. So poop to your 10 character minimum.

a super app, removes and unlocks everything i had trouble with. It can also rename files that were locked. I'm running it on XP and Vista.
Cons
there are none, been using well over a week and have used it at least 2 dozen times, cannot fault anything with it.

When EVERY other prog tells you, "Can't be done!" it does it. It unlocks, stops, and deletes every/anything.
Cons
You need to use Ccleaner, or Tweak Now Power Pack to get rid of the dll's that are left if doing an Unlocker deletion, but when even Iobit Uninstaller can't delete it (Iobit Uninstaller has an excellent dll clean up for when it can uninstall), Unlocker can.

For the can't do jobs, Unlocker can- so far- ALWAYS! Good chit mayn!

"Finally got rid of Files I wasn't able to!!"

Absolutely fantastic. There was another user on my PC, the previous owner, and I could never delete them from my Computer down to me being told I needed Administrator permission. But Unlocker did it! It got rid of it all and now feel safe knowing I can delete files/folders with the same problem. Brilliant!
Cons
It wouldn't work at first, maybe because I checked a box I shouldn't have, so I uninstalled it and gave it another go and this time, a little bit slow, it worked fine.
Summary
If you are getting annoying messages that won't let you delete certain files and folders, then get this. It's simple to use and does *Exactly* what it claims to do. Top marks!!

"Would be great if it hadn't just stopped working"

Works like a dream until now
Cons
Has suddenly stopped working - get to 'browse folder', highlight 'my comupter', hit 'OK' and it quits. The other problem is that it has stopped opening by itself when I encounter a problem so I have laboriously open the program.
Summary
Get these problems sorted and it will be a 5 star product!
Agree with CNET_Is_Awesome... they also changed it to Bing bar now... and Babylon isn't malware, it's legit but tricky to completely get rid of like most software!

"Very handy program"

You can find out why files cant be deleted (what program has them open) and force deletion of them. Very usefull
Cons
Anyone installing, please make sure you turn off their sponsor program. Its a bit nasty and the reason I've only given this 4 out of 5.

I have installed Unlocker and subsequently deleted successfully a folder of 13 GB which had been created by EaseUS Todo Free 4.0 when I restored files to another location than that of the original folder. This was just a test whether EaseUS recovers properly. It does. However, I could not delete the recovered folder by using Windows Ultimate 64 bits. Unlocker deleted this folder without any issues.
Of course, having read some valuable reviews I did not install the offered Babylon toolbar, i.e. unchecked the appropriate box.
I assume that files downloaded from CNET are clean anyway. To be on the safe side, I checked the exe file and subsequently the installed program with Microsoft Security Essentials. It has not found any malware.
I wonder what the reason is for some of the critical reviews. All these opinions have to be taken seriously as there may be some truth in them. Unfortunately, RSonCNet has not yet replied to my question. I wonder why and how Lockhunter seems to be better? -
"Much worse than previous version"

Works but only after you find the program and jump through the all the annoying hoops.
Cons
Unlocker 1.9 has lost so much functionality I'm switching to Lockhunter. Unlocker 1.8 worked great, when something needed unlocking the program would be automatically brought up.
Unlocker 1.9.1 doesn't do that at all. You have to find the program in order to unlock it, the UI has lost everything resembling convenience. It's like Microsoft paid someone off to deliberately make it hard to use this and unlock programs.Summary
Don't bother with this. It's very depressing to see such a useful program turned into a piece of garbage through an 'improved' version. This is exactly the kind of progress we don't need to see.
