  "OK but could be better"

  Version: Undelete 360 PORTABLE 2.15

  Pros

  Simple scenario, nothing too difficult:
  with a sub\sub directory highlighted that had only 2 files in it that I didn't want, I hit delete to erase it and it's two files. instead, windows erases the parent sub-directory (it's windoze7, what can I say), and it couldn't be found in recyclebin.
  
  This tool was free, and was the highest-rated by download.com/cnet (and what'sup with that?)
  
  This tool did recover all lost files... but not without some unpleasant quirks... read on:

  Cons

  1. I had over 100 photos to recover, but it offered no way to "mark all". seems pretty basic - you see that everywhere these days. I had to mark them all individually.
  2. I noticed too late that it was sending recovered files into the wrong directory: mydocuments instead of the original SD card and folder
  3. it renamed everything with the first letter replaced by a strange character. it should have prompted - in this case, being able to tell it to "apply this to all" would have been useful, because the image files all started with the same letter.

  Summary

  It could be more intuitive, like offering "select all" and by default re-creating directory and files in original location, not a new one that it just takes the initiative to send it to without asking you.
  
  Luckily it's a portable app, so uninstalling is just a delete away.
  I fail to understand why cnet was not able to find a better undelete program and gave this one 4.5 stars.
