Way too slow on long distance hookups. Screen displays were slow to stopped from Michigan to Florida.

I had previously used free Real VNC with terrific results but switched to Ultra VNC due to the former not working with Windows 7. What a disaster! Ultra VNC was like being stuck in molasses. Get the Real VNC Personal edition that works with Windows 7. It is well worth the few dollars expended. -

I have very little space but need to use 2 computers, this has allowed me to use one screen, keyboard and mouse with both.
Cons
The server uses a fair amount of resources on my old XP single core computer.
Summary
I wouldn't be without this, but wish it didn't use so CPU cycles.

The version of Ultra VNC no longer connects to my AIX VNC server. Not sure why, but I would NOT recommend "upgrading" to this version if you use AIX as the back-end VNC server.
Summary
Bottom line is make sure you can roll back to the previous version. This version of Ultra VNC is not a solid build.

Instruction available from the UltraVNC website don't correspond to the latest downloaded version.
Removed the desktop wallpaper.
Client couldn't connect because it reports that the server has no password configured.Summary
Sorry to have to say it, but this is amateur software. I went back to RealVNC. This is not as full-featured as UltraVNC, but at least it works.
