"My editor"
Version: UltraEdit 11.10a
Pros
I would agree to dallen39283 - UltraEdit is great. However, I'm still using Version 8.00 for years, which does everything I want to do perfectly.

"Awesome"
Version: UltraEdit 11.10a
Pros
I call this my "vi for Windows." It is a great Editor and it feels great to use. Personally, I use it to edit HTML files, write text files, and edit C/C++ codes from my unix account.
I think everyone should buy it.

"Good product but getting heavier with every release"
Version: UltraEdit 11.0
Pros
FTP option is amazing. It allows you to modify remote files as if they were on your machine locally. Also a lot of support for plugins. Really configurable to suit your needs. Rest are all standard but important features, syntax highlighting, user tools, macro editing, etc. Also they have now added 64 bit support.
Cons
Getting heavier day by day. I mean look at ultraedit 10.00a which is 2067KB. I understand that adding more features would make it bulkier, but would be better if the releases cater to some basic changes and patches and add more functionality in the form of plugins. Its now turning into some kind of a suite/ide but only code editing functionalities to show. Not worth the increase in size is what I would say.

Pros

Cons
no autocomplete:(

"Solid text editor"
Version: UltraEdit 10.20d
Pros
I really liked the integrated FTP option, which allows you to make quick changes to a page on a web site without having to go through the tedious process of separately downloading and re-uploading the file. The editing feature set is comprehensive, and this editor seems to have all the functionality of its competition.
Cons
The interface could use some polish, but then again, how pretty does a TEXT editor need to be?

"Solid text editor with ftp integration"
Version: UltraEdit 10.20d
Pros
Seemlessly save and open files on a remote server; no extra steps required to work with non-local files. Powerful search and replace that supports regex.
Cons
Plain interface.

"cant recommend"
Version: UltraEdit 10.20d
Summary
Really can't recommend this. Think about how long this company has been around. What do they have to show for it ? The editor is nothing special. Syntax highlighting.....yawn. How about some features that would contrast it from freeware ?
I also find it difficult to use. The compiling features are hard to find. -
"More advanced text editors gone better!"
Version: UltraEdit 10.20d
Summary
UltraEdit is like Notepad and other text editors, except with quite a few extra features. As any text editor, it is very simple and easy to use, but unlike most text editors it's got many simple and features that may seem pointless. For example, I use UltraEdit for my PHP scripting because it has the seeming-pointless feature of have line numbers. Most people would think "What's the point in that?" Well the point in that is that PHP tells you what line the error is on. Some PHP scripts could reach thousands of lines easily. Imagine having to count a few thousand lines just to get to an error as simple as forgetting to add a dolar sign ($) before a variable or a semicollen (;) at the end of the line. There are also many easy and benifitial features for programmers and web designers.
