In searching through these, I picked Ultimate Popup killer because it was free. I loved using it but HATE not having my home page saved. I attempted to purchase the version that won't change my home page but the link dead ended, so I could not pay for the full version.

I've used Kill popup v1.2 for years. It had some stability problems. Found Ultimate popup killer. Worked exactly as is should. It did reset my home page but that was clearly explained in the set up. I went and bought the program for $12 which stopped the home page resets. Very nice program and worth $12 too.

This program should be avoided like the plaig.
By installing this program, this is what you can expect:
1. Many more popups - ads about stuff you dont need or want.
2. Bandwidth hogging - This program will spend all its time sending info about you to its homepage
3. Resource hogging - CPU and Ram will be hogged
4. Changing of your system settings without asking - Homepage redirection etc. -

this program does fine for blocking the popups (as long as you have the sound turned off) the problem with this is...it slowes everything down so much while its blocking a popup and it forces your IE browser to have searchby.net as your home page! then when you try and uninstall it doesnt work. you have to actually go into your cpu and delete off all the files that it came with, what a pain! its not worth it!!!

This program shanghais your browser for it's advertising. It does block almost everything making surfing more of a pain than the popups were. The only thing better than uninstalling it, is not installing it in the first place.

This program will install spyware to hijack your homepage and use windows messenger to send you popups. If you've downloaded this and experienced this, then uninstall it and it should get rid of the problem. And download AdAware and SpyBot for your own good, people...:)
