There are nasty rumors on the Ulead forums site that Media Studio Pro is set to be phased out. I can't speak to the veracity of these rumors, but you should check them out before buying a product with a dead end in sight.
Can create some very big, long, quality dvd's from avi's and megs if they are already in good quality. Look good on home DVD player.
Better have a VERY powerful box. Take a VERY long time to render. But if you machine survives the process, you will get a high qual dvd worthy of tv dvd. IF YOUR BOX survives the rendering. I have a P4 3.2 with 2G Ram and mine sometime wont make it through the largest most high qual files.
Before I downloaded the program, I have no experience in professional video editing (only tried videostudio before) and worried that there will be a huge learning curve for the entry level video editor like me. However, when I installed the program and played it for a while, my worries were gone! All layout and buttons are properly placed and the flow is very logical. I tried to capture my HD video footage from the Sony HC-1 and to edit it with some filters. It ran smoothly with no problem.
I also tried the new tool, smart compositor, which allows me to create the impressive opening in a short time. Although ulead includes only one template in the trial version, the result was beyond my expectation. Can't wait to see the other templates included in the full version.
