"Trial version expired in 1 day only, not in 30-days!!"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
. .
Cons
. .
Summary
Waste of my time... Downloaded to check if this is the program I would like to purchase and I used it for one day but the next day it started telling me that my trial period is over. If they cannot even program a 30-day trial period successfully into the software, well...

"Good"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
Good Software
Cons
NO probs in it
-
"Wonderful program for users who want control over all aspects of their dvd's."
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
This program is not a point and click program. It takes a while to figure out, but once you do, you have total control over all aspects of the dvd your wanting to make. If you're wanting something point and click or drag and drop this program is not for you. If you're wanting to spend a bit of time in making your menus and chapters just right... then this is definately the RIGHT program for you.
Cons
It does take a bit of time to figure out... but once you do, it will be well worth the effort.

"Very basic features."
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Cons
These features you already have in basic DVD creator softwares.

"Don't make DVD's without it!"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
Simple interface that gets the job done
Cons
Not the best video renderer around. Usually I tmpgenc everything first then use this to fix it up

"Another Ulead rubbish. Save your time."
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
None.
Cons
Have problems reading any over 2GB file (very slow loading, can't playback, etc).
Suitable only for single movie authoring because of the menu limitation.
No size estimation.
-
"many features, but hard to access"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Pros
The motion menus and ability to completely customize menus gave this a program a jump on the only other I have used.
Cons
The menus are difficult to create unless you have lots of free time, and the "create custom sequence" doesn't exist as far as I can tell. The help menus are worthless.

"Confusing"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Cons
I cannot figure out how to do quite a bit of the things it claims it can do in it's description. "...add multiple subtitle and audio tracks" I still have yet to figure out how to add the subtitles, which is the main reason why I got it since I can't seem to find a suitable program to do that with. "$495.00 to buy" that's quite a bit for something that you can't even figure out how to use. If anyone at least knows how to do the subtitles, please email me at CuddlesTheKitten@aol.com. If doing simple and basic things is what you want, then waste 500 bucks on this program, instead of using what usually comes with your computer, or that you can get for less than 20 dollars.

"can't figure this out"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Summary
this software came bundled with a purchase of adobe premiere-- while it promises to be more versatile than other authoring programs, I have yet to be able to author anything with it. the process is very unintuitive and clunky and the program's help is pretty much useless. I sat down tonight to try and figure it out and still i am stymied. I am very suspicious of some of the other reviews here, they all sound too much like PR dept hype to me, don't match my experience at all, and I'm a reasonably capable user. thank goodness my dvd drive came with sonic mydvd, that's a simple program -- won't do chapters, and the menu page is stiff, but at least I could make it work on the first go-round. I'll give this another go but I'm not optimistic, the help is like translated stereo install instructions. here's a sample of undecipherable help:
Select a type of menu to create
1 Select to include a scene selection menu for your project.
2 Standard menu (Blank) Select to create the menu from scratch. You will start with a solid colored background in the workspace. You will have to provide all the components you want for the menu. You can only create a single page menu when you select this.
3 Standard menu (Template) Select to able to choose a preset menu template for your menu. You will have to provide the other components except for the menu background. You can only create a single page menu when you select this.
and so on . . .
I'm looking for a book to explain this program and can't find one that's positively reviewed.

"VERY BAD PRODUCT!"
Version: Ulead DVD Workshop 2
Summary
I am a profesional videoeditor with requests from clients for DVD's. After spending a solid week on a project working in DVD WORKSHOP I go to burn the DVD and there it crashes my system over and over again. I tried everything and it still gives me a BIG hassle! ULEAD should be ashamed to rip people off as the program costs almost $500! Not only this problem but the program is very limited and the HELP is absolutely aweful. Save yourself some aggrivation and save your money. Perhaps Adobe Encore?
