Version: Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4
"Great program but the worst tech/customer support!"
Pros: Very easy to use. I literally started burning DVD's within five minutes. I was able to import my DVD files from several of my DVD-RW's (from my Sony DCR-DVD200) onto my hard drive, the wizard walked me through it, I added some nice menu's, some background music, and voila! I had a very nice DVD compilation! Excellent!
Cons: Their tech./customer support SUCKS! After downloading this software, I was ready to buy it after three uses. I e-mailed them (at their pre-sales contact as listed on their website) three times to have my question/s answered but nobody bothered taking the time to respond to my e-mails. If you don't mind being ignored as a paying customer, but need a great easy to use program then download this. If you expect support, then keep moving. My philosophy is this ; If they're not treating you right before the sale, just how poorly will they treat you after they get your money? Such a shame I had to rate a great program so poorly. They just don't care about the customer.

Version: Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5
Pros: Very Easy to use. Rendering was pretty fast, and simply put, my final DVDs look a whole lot better, compared to those created by other authoring software. The support for high-definition formats is way cool--capturing from my Sony HDV camcorder was straightforward. The templates are pretty slick-looking and you can modify them all you like.
Cons: Not much video editing tools

"best authoring software to date"
Pros: Very easy interface less cpu usage then previous versions. The ability to remake a dvd with dolby digitial audio. The ability to shrink large sized dvd's, make dvd mp3 and dvd music
Cons: not enough menu templates. Very plain unprofessional looking. Still takes some time rendering and cpu usage.

Pros: i love the program, not complicated to use and you can pretty much do whatever you want with your cds and dvds
