    "imitated but never duplicated"

    April 14, 2010  |   By ehealthe

    Version: TypeIt4Me 5.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Unique in its class for stability, usability and flexibility. Has servered savvy macusers since 89. Cannot fault it, cannot do without it on a daily basis. The uses for Typeit4me are limited only by your imagination. Well done to developer for keeping it on the curve with all the system changes and providing honest, personal and immidiate support when necessary with very reasonable upgrade policy.

"developer contacted me within a couple of hours"

    April 4, 2010  |   By windnotes

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Just a quick comment as a long time TypeIt4Me user. The last several days after migrating from my old imac to a new i7 imac I encountered some minor problems with text expansion with TypeIt4Me. The developer contacted me and began a dialogue within a couple of hours. If you are having problems contacting him check your spam folder or be sure you are using a current mail address.

    "TypeIt4Me"

    March 14, 2009  |   By fsneds

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
As a 20-year user of TypeIt4Me who does a fair amount of interviewing over the phone, I am totally dependent on this expansion program. I go nuts on the iPhone when I don't have it available. Developer is responsible and responsive. LOTS of big fat stars!

"Not bad, but not the best either..."

    January 1, 2009  |   By PQXYZ33

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I tried every text expansion program I could find for Mac OS X. Eventually, and for awhile, I settled on TypeIt4Me. I found some aspects quite useful and some (including the mangled and/or delayed expansions) quite frustrating.

After giving up on TypeIt4Me, I switched to Typinator and havenâ??t looked back. Typinator is the only one of the text expansion apps that I have used that allows one to back delete to erase a mistake and then type forward again from that point to the end of the expansion trigger and still have the expansion work.

    "Yes! It works with Leopard"

    April 8, 2008  |   By jeffeastin_dotmac

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.0.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've worked as a professional feature film and television writer for over a decade, and TypeIt4Me is the one program I've used since the beginning - back when I started with a Powerbook 170 (what a great machine, three inches thick with its tiny black-and-white screen). Why? Because it's simple and reliable.

The first thing I do when I start a new script is make a copy of my abbreviations file and store my new character names.

Do I use it a lot? I got my MacBook Pro with Leopard last week and installed the newest version of TypeIt4Me. According to the program (it keeps track of these things) in 5 days of use it expanded 5060 abbreviations, saving me 38,940 keystrokes, which, at my typing speed, saved me 1 hour and 50 minutes of typing. Not bad.

    "THIS APP IS SUPERB"

    February 24, 2008  |   By johninsapporo

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.0.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I don't understand the negativity of recent comments about this app on this site. TypeIt4Me is simply superb. The developer is extremely responsive and is always beta testing and adding new features.

Apart from this, TypeIt4Me is the ORIGINAL. Anything else similar is a copy. I first came across it in a book by David Pogue in the early 90's and loved it. I've used it ever since. This app alone - apart from anything else - would keep me on the Mac.

    "Autocorrect doesn't"

    February 23, 2008  |   By kelpie47

    Version: TypeIt4Me 4.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used TypeIt4Me for years and upgraded to v4 while it was still in beta. However, the autocrrect feature does not work for me. I contacted the author when in beta and he could not suggest a reason it would not work. I have since emailed him twice and got nothing more than his autoreply saying he reads all emails, he may do but he doesn't reply to them.
The basic services of expanding clips still works fine but for me there was no need to have upgraded as I can't use the new feature. Check it out for yourselves before paying for the upgrade.
