"Setup funky, Runs Great!"
Version: Twistery Tornado History 1
Pros
Great information, easy to use, fast, interesting and surprisingly free (there's not even a way to pay if you wanted to).
Cons
Installation is a little tricky, but not "hard"
Summary
I see why people were frustrated with this setup. You don't have to be rocket scientist, but you do have to let "both installes" run for it to work It looks like it's installing two different software programs. I think it has something to do with Microsoft's lousy .Net permisions.
Anyway, I ran it, and it works well. I'm pretty surprised the program is completely free. 50 years of maps on where tornados hit, how far they travelled, etc. Pretty cool!
I wonder if some of the bad reviews for this software are from people who make competing software. LOL, either way this is a great peice of free software!
I should also say that I'm a video gamer, not a scientist. I found this software when I was looking at his website for other games he made. (this isn't a game, but it sounded interesting) So maybe I know how to install software better than some of the other reviewers.
Oh, and if it doesn't download, why rate it poorly? Isn't that a problem with Download.com not the software? -
"Great Little Program"
Version: Twistery Tornado History 1
Pros
I was worried when some people liked it and some people didnt, but its free so I tried it. Worked great! I'm using Win XP. It's really fast and it has laods of info. I'm kind of a weather geek, so I'm pretty excited about it. I'm surprised this is free. I'm not sure what all the complaints are about - great software!
Cons
No complaints - works great!

"Unable to run it!"
Version: Twistery Tornado History 1
Cons
This program loaded but would not run because of a missing dll.

"Fun for my students"
Version: Twistery Tornado History 1
Pros
I teach and It was fun for my students to see this program. We looked at patterns in the movement of weather and it was nice extension of the class. I created a homework assignment around it, the students seem to install it fine. It was a little funny to install. It has a phase 1 and phase 2, I had to wait for phase 2 to run.
Cons
Nothing - it was fine. The complaint might be that phase 1 - phase 2 install thing.

"downloan unsucessful"
Version: Twistery Tornado History 1
Pros
It sounded like an interesting program and if it had downloaded sucessfully i would have checked it out. I just don't have time right now to send e-mails flying back and forth to try and find out what I could do to make it work properly so I gave up and erased the unusable files which resulted from the attempts.
Cons
I made 3 attempts to download this program and all thee times I got an error message saying the file I had gotten was corrupted and the program could not install.
