Pros: It has a restore feature to undo the damage it has created.

Cons: No noticable improvement in PC performance was gained in exchange for the pain it caused.
    Customer support is dire.

Summary: After running this programme I found that I could no longer access my browser. It was still present but somehow the access permissions had been changed. 2 calls to the "English speaking" helpline (based in Germany) were greeted with a short message in German then English that my call was being terminated - and they were as good as their word.

At the 3rd attempt I spoke to a lady whose English was about as good as my Swahili. Typical exchange (ten minutes into the call and after I've repeatedly explained that I am unable to open my browser):

Helpdesk: "So what is your internet viewing like now?"
Me: "Er, I can't open my browser"
    Helpdesk: {long pause} "ah, yes"

After a very frustrating 20 minute conversation I was told to write an e/mail which would get me a very fast response. Well I certainly got one of those - to be precise an auto generated reply telling me that their server had bounced my message - from an e/mail address with an internationally known ISP that I've had for 7 years without previous problems - because it was "spam".

I resent the mail from my work address; referenced the very recent conversation we'd had, gave plenty of detail about my problem and answered all the questions in their template. 8 hours later I got a signed response from a human asking me what assistance I'd like. I bit my tongue and politely suggested that reading my mail might be a good start.

An hour later, when I arrived home, I was able to take a screen capture from my home PC of further evidence so I did this and sent it in a mail headed with the ticket number previously given and a covering note explaing what I'd done. This generated a new ticket number (!!!) and I'm still waiting to hear further.

In the meantime, I opened Tune Up again and discovered it has a restore feature. I've now run this, restoring to the point immediately prior to ever opening the damn thing, everything is fine again and I can try to forget I ever encountered Tune Up.

Which is what I'd suggest any else who is tempted also does.
