"Fantastic Software for Finding Name & Artist of a Song"

Play the song and with the click of your mouse, it will begin to search for the song in its database and return the name & artist of the song within seconds.

Summary
I have had a couple MP3 songs on my computer for years that I could not determine the names or artists for. I had nearly given up until I learned about Tunatic. I played them on my computer and clicked on the Tunatic button and within seconds it returned the names of the songs and the artists that I have been trying to research for at least the last 2 years. If only I had known about this software program earlier.
The songs in question, were Sadeness (Pt. 1) by Enigma and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart. I knew that the latter song was composed by either Mozart or Beethoven, but after searching iTune's listings for the song I was unsuccessful in nailing down the exact song title and artist. Tunatic nailed it in a matter of seconds.
I highly recommend trying this FREE software for any songs that you are having trouble with in finding the name and/or artist for. -

- Even foreign songs ranking on the top 10s are not recognized. Forget about rare ones.
- Doesn't let you pick songs from hard drive.

After failing multiple times with a rare English song, I tried it with a very known song (in English too) and it recognized it. Then, I tried a it with a popular Spanish song (which was ranked on the top 10s on radios), and was not found.

simple installation, small, works for most songs you'd hear on the radio (since they're usually popular)
Cons
doesn't work with less popular songs, which is usually what you want to use it for. also fails with most of my music because they're not in english (hindi/russian).
Summary
you can usually google song lyrics for english songs. i wanted to use this specifically for foreign music that i can't easily google, but the database doesn't contain many hindi and russian songs ~_~. only get this if you want to save yourself the effort of googling english songs

Good at identifying music. Fast, easy to install, easy to use, free :) Lots of potential.
Cons
It would be great if one could apply it to batch tagging existing music files. Currently it listens for music coming from the mic. and identifies it.

I WAS looking for a way to find out what song I was listening to and. this app is GODSEND!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe withing seconds...this app told me what song I was listening and, noone knew either what it was, download this right not its free!

"Works for Some Not for Others"

This software can identify "known" music from a microphone or from capturing sound from the wave channel (right click on Tunatic window to change settings). This is cool!
Cons
This software cannot identify some songs, especially of less "popular" artists.

Easy install, will read songs played on your computer without a microphone if you set it to, and best of all free.
Cons
Does not find rare songs that you maybe searching for, Takes awhile to find the song even on high speed, does not allow windows user to update its library of songs.

Small footprint -- less than 500kb and a simple interface.
Cons
This is more as proof of concept than a program. It doesn't read songs already on the hard drive and if it is able to identify the song, it does not automatically tag the audio file.
What I was looking for is a program to identify the untagged music on my hard drive and, so far, Tunatic is not it.
