Version: TubeTwist demo
"WONDERFUL- Great fun for parents and kids together"
Pros: While the storyline is perhaps a little hokey, the graphics are engaging and the music fits perfectly... almost hypnotic.... creating an atmpsphere where one becomes engrossed with getting these little balls from one place to another through an array of switch-tubes, jumps, planned collisions, etc. While the game really is fun, for me the best part is that the game lends itself to two or more folks "working" together and runs an extremely wide range of difficulty. So I can enjoy the game with my six year old on the opening 2-4 puzzles, while my sudoku- loving 11 year old and I can also enjoy the challenge.
There was a final surprize... and in keeping with everything else about this game it was most pleasant. As we completed the demo puzzles, I began to notice that there was no mention of the price to buy the full version (the question of buying had clearly moved from "if" to "when" I started to worry that I was going to be hit for 50=60 bucks for the game...... But it was only TWENTY!
Buy the game... it hard to imagine anyone who likes puzzles...or who likes playing semi-educational ( I say semi- because it makes no claim or attempt to "be educational" but in reality is the best kind of educational game- one where the learning takes place in the background, because everyone is having too much fun to realize how much they are learning.) games with kids being disappointed.
Cons: Not really a drawback, but more of a wish for the next version... I would love to see a puzzle creating tool.... So my kids can try and stump me... not to mention my enjoyment over not being able to stump them!
