Version: TrueCrypt 6.2
"TrueCrypt is easy to use and seriously good"
Pros: There are several options available for encryption purposes. I wanted a feature akin to a mini vault on my computer. It does this superbly, on the fly encryption in a file - where ever you choose to create it. Very cool - and amazingly it's free !
Cons: Maybe if you forgot your password i guess ? But really, there are no cons.
Summary: TrueCrypt is an amazing free program. Everyone should have this feature by default built in to windows. You won't find better security than this on your PC. It's like those lock box programs, except this is better, free - and more secure. I recently created a 100GB encrypted partition on my external 1TB hard drive, something i've wanted to do for a while now, but never wanted to pay for. Well with TrueCrypt it was easy to do and totally free.
