Publisher's Description
From Trident:
The Blade3D 9880 chipset is Trident's second-generation 3D technology, designed to support DirectX 6.0 hardware features. Although Blade3D may support some of the hardware features in DirectX 7.0, users may experience some texture problems or slow frame performance. If this is the case for you, try to run the game in software mode.

"This driver is not for those users who have the VIA MVP4 motherboard chipset."
Version: Trident Blade3D 9880 Graphics Driver (Windows 95/98) 4.12.01.2219
Summary
If you have a VIA MVP4 chipset, this driver is not for you. Here is a link to the correct driver file for your video card: ftp://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/video/KPLE_WinME_3124_logod.zip If you don't know if your video card is of the 9880 chipset or of the MVP4 chipset, right-click my computer, click on properties, click on the device manager tab, click on the small + symbol next to system devices, and look for a device that has the following text: VIA Tech VT501 CPU to PCI bridge If you have this system device, download the drivers from the link above.

"A tip for Trident Users"
Version: Trident Blade3D 9880 Graphics Driver (Windows 95/98) 4.12.01.2219
Summary
I didn't download this driver but i have this graphics card...I would say that it sucked in windows 98se cos i get really low performance on games! even the game only requires 4VRAM... you still get bad fps!! (This video card has 8VRAM) In Windows XP pro...this card performs way much better than it used to bein win98... i get 3x faster performance and improved frame rate... For those of you uses this graphics card for 3d games... set the game resolution to 680x460 pixels, 16bit, and just adjust the viewable size of your monitor smaller...

Summary
I am curious as to why c/net should put up this driver for my system...it does not work with the via chip...well a little better than dunking your system in the tub perhaps...the worst is I had a good upgrade previously installed and have lost it in the ensuing chaos from installing this demon...I doubt I.ll ever install another driver for some time...more info should be to hand on compat issues C/NET
