Editors' Note: The Download Now link takes you to Google's Web site, where you can find more information about TouchPal Contacts.
TouchPal Contacts isn't a great dialer, but it does offer some cool ways to block calls and texts. If that's what you're looking for, this app is a good way to do it. However, the app's name suggests a different focus, which is confusing at best and downright misleading at worst.
This app doesn't offer a new way to view your contacts like Current Caller ID or Contacts+. Instead, it manages who can contact you through blocking calls and numbers. You can block plenty of different numbers with the app and even set it to only let people on your approved list call you. If you navigate away from TouchPal Contact's tools menu, you'll find an alternative dialer and contacts viewer, too. You can't do much from this menu that isn't already available in Android's default contacts app, though. The app will let you group contacts together and block the entire group. Additionally, the app lets you set custom themes to change the way it looks.
Once you get past the confusing name, you'll really appreciate this app. TouchPal Contacts is one of the easiest ways to block people from calling your phone. It's especially nice that it lets you block large groups of numbers. However, if you're looking for a better way to customize and display your contact list, this isn't the app you want.
TouchPal Contacts (formerly known as TouchPal Dialer) is a smart dialer/contacts app to replace your stock dialer. You can search contacts on dialpad and block calls. It features gesture dialing, fast contact search, number attribution, block/unblock calls from any contact, and support more UI themes.
