CNET Editors' review
An all-in-one Web browser is nothing to sneeze at, but Torch Browser isn't going to pry you away from Chrome or Firefox. While it has options that make sharing and social media a breeze, Torch Browser just isn't unique enough to win people's hearts. It lags in performance and its major features aren't worth making the switch.
Torch Browser tries to carve out its niche by being an all-in-one Web browser. This means it can be a media player, a torrent downloader, and a place to combine all of your social networks. However, it doesn't do any of those things well enough to replace what you currently use. Once you get over the novelty, it becomes obvious that Torch Browser isn't that powerful as a Web portal. It's noticeably slower than other browsers and it doesn't have the same sort of add-on support. The layout is just a rip-off of the open-canvas setup of other, more popular browsers. None of this is to say that using it is all a bad experience. Torch Browser still runs circles around Internet Explorer and would be a major upgrade there.
While not a threat to Firefox or Chrome, Torch Browser is easy enough to use and might just impress Internet Explorer users. Heavy downloaders might enjoy the torrent downloader and media player that come with it, too.

"Very good, but needs improvements to replace Chrome."
Version: Torch Browser 18.104.22.1685
Just tried this today. The video grabber is fantastic. When using Realplayer with Chrome, anytime either one updates, you need to go into Chrome's code, and fix it so the right code is being used for Realplayer to work. The video grabber works in seconds. No more need for Realplayer. Was able to transfer over most passwords and preferences, without much of a hitch. I can still save pages, as I like to keep a digital library of what i'm reading for future reference. It's fast, and easy to use, so far.
Extensions. Where are they? Can't use ad blocker or last pass. In a day and age of customization's, Torch is seriously lacking in this dept.
So far, better then IE, Opera, Safari and Firefox. They all have their own glitches that annoy me. Either they are slow, don't allows me to download videos or save pages, or something else. I normally use Chrome, and as this is Chrome based with some improvements, I'm happy so far. The P2P is interesting, but not likely to replace UTorrent as my favorite downloader. The Share button doesn't seem to be useful enough, so far. Interesting though. But the lack of extensions and customization's may lead me to go back to Chrome.

integrated downloads, download accelerator works most of the time
This is a browser that lacks A LOT. I don't agree with CNET proclaiming it to be better than Internet Explorer. Maybe Internet Explorer 7 or 8, but certainly not 9 or 10. It is very slow, closes for no reason, and "stops responding" on certain popular websites. One annoyance in particular: it rendered pages with the images missing/broken. Even a hard refresh (ctrl+F5) did not solve this is many cases.
I strongly feel that most of the 5-star reviews were not written by individual users. 29 5-star reviews out of 37 total reviews for a product as inferior as this? That is a whopping 79% of users giving this browser 5 stars. I don't buy it. Almost always, individual reviews rate lower than a publisher reviewing the software does. The main reason is that people in general are more apt to complain than praise. (Check around if you doubt this.) CNET gives this browser 2.5 stars, but again, 79% of the reviews are 5-star. Doesn't make sense and does not ring true.
They also seem similar in that the verbiage seems like translated or broken English, ["...managing media files are now a child's play for me"] and the pros listed are not ones that are often seen written by individual users, but from people close to the product.
Here is a random sampling from the suspect reviews:

Ultra-fast Social Media Sharing Is Made Easier
Proper management of media file- music , videos and movie clips
No threat of virus or malware attack
Choosing among thousands of available browser wasn't easy for me. I took time to choose a sound browser like torch browser solely for it's amazing features. I knew it wouldn't a bad idea to use it and then only decide what to do. I was right when I had chosen this browser.
Proper management of media file and reorganize them.
At times, startups are smooth
Still not convinced? Look at the rest of the 5 star reviews. The written English all has the same awkward, broken style. The misuse of the word "betterment" appears in three separate 5-star reviews. I think the likelihood for three different people to misuse a relatively obscure word like that to be near zero. Also it is odd how USERS of the browser make statements like "No threat of malware, trojans, etc."
Of course, I certainly cannot know for sure these are fake. It seems way more likely than not, however.
