"Not very good, seems pointless and contradictory"

Pros
The only pros are that it does backup and restore accurately, and it's free.
Cons
When you run TOPBACKUP, you are given the option to run it "as fast as possible" or slower which uses less space. I backed up a folder 250mb, 668 files, 44 folders. The "fast as possible" option took 3 min. 16 sec. and created an file BackupFile.tbp, which was EXACTLY the same size as the original folder. the 2nd option (slower less space)took 3 min 7 sec., which was actually FASTER. There was a 40% savings in space with option 2 though. The first option was pointless as it took just 2 1/2 minutes to just copy the folder to another drive, and not have to worry about restoring from TOPBACKUP only, because of the .tbp extension. When you restore, you have no other option but to restore to the exact same drive and folder name as the original.
