    "Lara Croft is HOT"

    August 7, 2006  |   By cryora

    Version: Tomb Raider: Legend demo

    Pros

In this game, Lara Croft is hotter than previous Tomb Raiders and the movie as well. She's not only great looking, she has awesome moves as well. She jumps, climbs, swings, swims, and much more. Her combat abilities, the way she jumps and rolls in the air, is Matrix-like.

This game has alot of similarities to the Prince of Persia games but is very different also. It has a amazon-archaeology theme to it. The enviornments are very detailed and beautiful. The puzzles are intuitive and you get to watch Lara move around while you're playing. I can't stress how awesome she is.

The game runs very well given that you properly adjust the settings.

If you're a fan of noteworthy action-adventure games like Prince of Persia, you're going to enjoy this game. Male or female, you're going to love Lara Croft one way or another.

    Cons

The demo is short and is a large 509MB download.

When Lara speaks, her voice sounds kinda aged. Still, when she grunts while jumping around, Lara sounds youthful and sexy.

Maybe this game resembles Prince of Persia TOO much. See for yourself.

    "Good..."

    July 26, 2006  |   By kelsey<3

    Version: Tomb Raider: Legend demo

    Pros

    1) The graphics are amazing.

    2) Unlike TR6, this is loyal to the first games that people loved.

    3) More interactive controls. The addition of the mouse to the controls adds more control over Lara.

    4) Music and sounds add depth to the game.

    Cons

    1) Slow download for the demo. Large file. However, once you get it it runs smoothly, and in the PC version it runs fine (IF you have a DVD driver, since that is the only version I have been able to find.)

    2) Not extremely realistic. Lara is old, nearly 40 years old and still looks like she's 20. There are as well as some minor flaws in the way that her items (guns, mainly) function, but overall it's a good game.

"Not bad, but not better than the previous TR games"

    June 12, 2006  |   By asdf1234asdf1234

    Version: Tomb Raider: Legend demo

    Pros

Excellent graphics, but unless you have a 512 MB video card, don't concern yourself with the "next gen" graphics option (not available unless you have a 512 MB card)--besides, even if you have a beefy enough card, the next gen graphics are, in my humble opinion, worse than regular gameplay with all settings enabled/maxed, plus it's very taxing on your CPU, and is often very choppy.

The story behind the game is fairly decent, which makes the game more like an interactive movie than a regular video game.

    Cons

One would think that with a game this large, it would be a long one to play. However, it is not, and beating the Bosses in the game is rather trivial. The only challenging thing is getting used to the user interface and the awkward camera angles, which makes precise movement during the game very difficult--but that's the only difficult thing about this game. Everything else is rather easy.

The biggest downside is that you are only allowed to carry one other weapon besides Lara's handguns, which is rather odd, and frustrating at times.

The bots in the game are rather generic and dumb, even on more difficult settings.

Lastly, the auto-aim feature is annoying at best, but the manual-aim does not allow Lara to move and shoot at the same time--she must remain stationary, which means she is an easy target when using manual-aim. A better targeting system would make this game much more interesting. All you have to do is slightly face the enemy and blast away and they're all dead.

"Great sense of nostalgia while playing this game."

    April 28, 2006  |   By NYFrank

    Version: Tomb Raider: Legend demo

    Pros

A)This game is obviously superior to the past several titles in the series when you can recall your mother yelling at you for playing the first two.

B)Controls are smooth and well done in comparison with many similar games on the market today.

C)Graphics are quite nice and Lara's sharp polygonal cheek bones have vanished (brava).

D)Music is quite good, it helps alot with the adventurous exploration feel of the game.

D)Feels more like an adventure game again. One of the previous sequels (I can't remember which but I'm pretty sure it was on Dreamcast) had her running around halls hiding from guards and I felt that they were trying to emulate Metal Gear games and not do their own thing. This game however has its own distinct styling much like the orginal playstation games did and that is something special. Despite her best efforts Angelina Jolie could not ruin this game for me, hooray!

    Cons

A)My friend told me this game will only be released on DVD roms and upon searching sites such as Amazon I have so far been unable to disprove this. My friend does not have a dvd drive on his PC and I'm sure many others don't either.

B)Eidos cannot avoid the fact that the series is a little worn now (mainly their own fault for putting their fans through several deplorable sequels), and hardly any alterations they make to the series at this point can reinstate that initial coolness factor you experienced when picking up the first two titles. This being said if you haven't played any of the Tomb Raider titles and you have the oppurtunity of starting with this one or just playing Tomb Raiders 1, 2, and legend I would have to say your in for a great treat.

"Tomb Raider has never been better"

    April 25, 2006  |   By Wengistein

    Version: Tomb Raider: Legend demo

    Pros

The animations, graphics and sounds are all great. They give life to the game. It's been given a makeover with the HUD, and I've also noticed a physics engine. =D

    Cons

The combat action is horrible. How about letting us aim? It would make the game a bit more "action-y" and more gripping.
