Like Dope Wars minus the controlled substances, Ticker Tycoon lets you rack up a fortune in the stock-trading game without taking any real-life risks. Your goal is to beat the computerized opponent by being the first to make a certain amount of money by buying and selling shares of stock. The majority of the main window's real estate is devoted to a ticker that lists the symbol, current price, and positive or negative change. Clicking the Portfolio tab shows you your current holdings and how much money they're worth, and the News sections is the place to go for hot tips. If you're looking for fancy graphics and sound effects, Ticker Tycoon isn't for you, as the text-based interface is merely a bland gray box. We also wish the program displayed the computer's holdings somewhere in the main window; as it stands, you have to click a tiny icon every time you want to see how your opponent is doing. The game does offer a decent number of configuration options, including the ability to change the monetary goal, to place a time limit on each turn, and to specify the game length. If you want to brush up on your trading skills before investing your own savings, we'd suggest you download this game.Publisher's description

Summary: Try to change some play options and it crashes right in the middle of the procedure! Definitely pass this up!
