"Software great before attempted installation of update"
Pros: It was a great backstop for my other antivirus software, often thwarting viruses before the others caught them and sometimes catching the nasty things with no reaction from the other apps.
Cons: The attempted installation of the update via CNET was an unequivical disaster. It started out benignly enough but went from bad to much, much worse -- to the point where I now have no Threatfire on my computer and can't reinstall it.
Summary: I started out the update installation as per the instructions on the site on CNET, but then got a notification box telling me that the previous installation of Threatfire had to be uninstalled before the update could be installed. I should have stopp... read more

Pros: Free. Apparently a 'global-group-connected' type of thing, which is interesting.
Cons: Program seems to have a will of its own - does scans when it feels like it rather than as you've scheduled. Strong-arm tactics to get you to upgrade (i.e., pay).
Summary: As Cnet editors wrote, "ThreatFire is difficult to remove from your startup routine without uninstalling it." Maybe my complaint is a little different, but I find it does not merely launch with Windows and sit in the tray observing. Nor does it updat... read more

"It just works, without a lot of fuss!"
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: The daily update notice is a little irritating, but at least I know it is doing it's thing!

"it will corrupt your windows operating system"
Pros: can identify virus but, cannot totally clean up the computer
Cons: when i un-install this program, my widows OS was corrupted. i dont recommend this program.

Pros: Runs smooth and is free to new to tell how well it works
Cons: My computer is not seeing it as an anti virus it says computer needs one installed. Any help on this matter?
Summary: I will keep checking my computer with a free on line scan for back up so far so good read more
