Summary
Okay, two concessions first: one, the graphics are as muddy as the Mississippi at low tide; and two, the game runs slowly on my Athlon XP system. But -- I still love it. All the great sneaking and stealth of the two previous games is here, as good as ever. But do yourself a favor -- go to Omegacorner.com and get their driver for your video card. You'll be glad you did.

I have an Athalon 2500, 512mb ram and the FX5200 video card. Had to put everything on low settings to get a decent fps. I know my card needs upgrading but common! It is a 128mb card... I was hoping to at least be able to set everything to mid quality!
By the way CNET - it says free to try, and lists a price to BUY. How can I buy? -

This games looks cool. But I must run the game at 640x480 resolution with least shadow details to get some smooth graphics on my radeon 9200 128 MB video card.

"Cnet forces spyware to install??"
Version: Thief: Deadly Shadows demo
Summary
Using Ad-Aware or Spybot....two very popular spyware removal programs I GOT FROM CNET.....both programs list and remove all KONTIKI software as spyware.
Yet cNet has now rigged many of the downloads where you MUST use their so called "secure" download....which IS the kontiki client software.
If I opt out and select "no", I only get taken to a "supposed" get file page.
I have a 4000kbps download speed....yet that fake link for people that choose not to use the spyware will just sit. It acts like it's loading...but it's not. I have even left the page to sit....and would come back to the room with it in the same state.
I later realized ALL of the cNET downloads that I try to load that DEMAND a "secure" download do not load at all without the spyware installation.
Cnet, you are not doing any of these gaming software writers a favor by getting intelligent computer users to just avoid trying their software.
