Version: The Movies demo
Pros: The abiliity to make your own movies is amazing. The in-game movie-making system is extremely powerful, you can make feature-length films (if you're patient enough.
Basically, when making your movies, you need to choose a "scene". You cannot directly control where your actor will go, or how the camera will move, but rather choose a scene such as an actor opening a door, or a kung fu fight, or a hit-and-run.
Another aspect of the movie-making system is the amount of "sliders" for each scene. You can select different sliders that affect a different part of the scene. For example, if two people are talking, you can adjust the sliders to make one person happy, and one sad. Sliders also enable you to make hit-and-runs accidental, or on purpose, and allow you to choose the length of certain fighting scenes.
The amount of customization per scene is amazing. You're able to add scenery and change props and backgrounds for each scene, adding such little detail as a trash can or phone booth, but making a large impact when it comes to making your movie "different".
For those looking for a movie-tycoon however, don't look too much here. While there is a decent tycoon, this game is focused more on the movie-making than running the show.
Cons: The Movies doesn't work well on many machines. You'll need your most recent drivers, and will most likely need to download the patch. It crashes often on older machines. Those with gaming machines, however, musn't fret. It works great on gaming machines.
Unfortunately, there also isn't any lightsabers, or cool spaceships yet in The Movies. There also aren't any cool gun fighting scenes like from "The Matrix". Big monsters or flying cars are also hard to do unless you know what you're doing.

Version: The Movies demo
Pros: The game has option, loads of options, and decent graphics.
Cons: It is just another take on the tired old tycoon game, when will they let it die?

Version: The Movies demo
"Didn't have enough control over people and sets"
Pros: You get to build a lot of cool stuff. It's exciting the first couple times, then gets frustrating
Cons: It took 6 hrs. on DSL to download. The demo really resricts what you can do. Not enough variety.

Version: The Movies demo
"A refreshing shift from the typical PC game"
Pros: The game offers you a lot of control over the studio and your employees, and the tutorial does a great job of teaching you these finer details. The graphics are also very nice, and surprisingly easy on the computer. Every actor/extra/crew-member/etc looks very distinct, even allowing you to change their appearance (which becomes a minor piece of strategy in itself).
I'm typically pretty skeptical when it comes to playing demos. However, this is one of the few demos which has made me want to buy the game.
Cons: If you don't like to micromanage your studio, this might not be the best game for you. However, I thought all the options added to the experience.
In the demo, you have little control over the movies that are produced. You can choose the genre and the cast, but that's about it. You can't really create a script, choose the scenes or settings, etc.
Hopefully, you're allowed more freedom in that area with the full version.
