"Avoid avoid avoid Missing Sync for Blackberry"
Version: The Missing Sync for BlackBerry 2.0.3
Pros
At this time, I can't think of one.
Cons
Even if you have a USB cable, it requires a Bluetooth connection. And let me assure you, Missing Sync NEVER pairs. My BB pairs via Bluetooth with my imac, macbook, etc, but NEVER pairs with Missing Sync for Blackberry.
Summary
Avoid Missing Sync for Blackberry. Aside from the bluetooth/usb obstacle, tech support is non-existent, unless you count KBs and forums as tech support. This product is full of good intentions but is the very definition of a time-suck. If you absolutely need to sync with a mac, find other options. Avoid avoid avoid.

"Agree with the other reviewers...simply awful!"
Version: The Missing Sync for BlackBerry 2.0.3
Pros
Good concept (if it actually worked)
Cons
It would be bad enough if all it did was just not sync my blackberry to my mac. But Missing Sync actually managed to somehow DELETE MY DATA on BOTH devices, and I am still trying to recover months later.
Summary
Simply put, I paid $40 and what I got in return was the deletion of my vital data. Tech support was predictably useless. The whole thing was so traumatic that I actually switched platforms (from Blackberry to Android). Please, do yourself a huge favor, listen to the reviewers on this board, and do NOT buy this terrible product.

"Didn't recognize my 8100"
Version: The Missing Sync for BlackBerry 2.0.3
Pros
Hard to tell, and I'm sure there are some.
Cons
In my case, it wouldn't recognize the 8100.
Summary
Hard to say, it didn't detect my 8100.

"Blackberry OS 6 and Missing Sync Do not work together"
Version: The Missing Sync for BlackBerry 2.0.3
Pros
<<cricket....cricket>>>
Cons
The website claims that Missing Sync works with Blackberry's OS 6 and Mac but I have yet to have had a successful sync. I have spent over 8 hours on this and still the same error comes up. Solutions for OS 5 don't work. A waste of $40.
Summary
I have a Macbook Pro running on OS 10.5.8 and the new Blackberry Torch. Mark/Space's website claims that their v2 software will sync these devices however, after following all directions, double, triple and quadruple checking, I get the same error every time I try to sync "fixing record ids". It says "this may take a while". I left my computer and phone connected and in this mode all night. It was still in the same mode in the morning. I tried to open a ticket with tech support and it says my user name or password is invalid - the user name is the email they've reached me at 3 times to get me the download codes and the password was entered twice on registration so it can't be a typo. The only phone number on their webpage goes to a voicemail saying they will email a response in 4 days if you state the purpose of your call - the voicemail is full.
I searched online for solutions and found one that had been apparently offered by Missing Sync tech support. It involved using a code that could only be obtained through a third party website. When I went to the site the author had posted an apology letter saying he had been forced by RIM to remove the code generator due to copyright infringement. Now, I have a $40 logo sitting on my computer and it is completely useless. Reading online it looks to have a 50% success rate so if you buy it you take your chances. In the meantime, I'll be selling the Torch and buying an iPhone. (And by the way, I've already run into 2 people with Macs considering the Torch - I've told them of my experience and they're both buying iPhones.) -
"works sometimes, annoying always"
Version: The Missing Sync for BlackBerry 2.0.3
Pros
Pros. It occasionally works. Or at least it did at first
Cons
All it really does is generate annoying error messages every time you start your Mac up, and during the day while you're using it. Oh, and then it 'cancels' your shut-downs too.
Summary
The product is a great idea badly executed. It's unpredictable and unreliable. Way too nigh-maintenance for a sync program (the whole point of which is that it should run in the background and not require your involvement at all). This is just not ready for prime time. If you don't mind dedicating 30 minutes a day to making it work, it does a great job. (of course, you could use that 30 minutes to MANUALLY update your BlackBerry too)
