Version: The GIMP 2.2.13
"Little more complicated than Photoshop, but just as useful"
Pros: For those of you who have given this program bad reviews because you're blind and/or unable to think clearly, you really need to look around to see all of the features that this program has. One review complained that you can't draw circles with Gimp. I laughed when I saw that. For drawing circles, you use the circle tool...not the paths tool..
Anyway, after using Gimp and Photoshop, there's a lot of similarities. I regret paying for Photoshop after seeing all of the same features in Photoshop in Gimp. It's a handy, free program, and just as good as many other expensive ones. Beginners will find it somewhat complicated though. Still, don't make a review if you're new to the program and don't know anything about it.
Cons: Interface could use some work...

I've been useing the crap out of Photoshop CS2, I knew next to nothing about image software, and have pretty much taught myself the ins-&-outs of PS. The problem is that the trial period is running out, after I finally start to really understand its creative possibilities and use them. I dont have $400 to buy it, and I'm looking for something as good for free, what do you think? Would GIMP be a good alt. or should I seek something else?
