It has an endless amount of options to choose from and is easier to use than Photoshop. Why spend 100's of dollars on an expensive program like photoshop when you can get the Gimp for free and do just as much stuff. Best photo editting program I know of...

I only need a program to enhance and correct my didgitaal photos. I don't do any graphics stuff, so don't need all of the bells and whistles.

Other than that, I don't have the time or space 2 say enuff about The GIMP
If U don't have a photo editor, then U should download this yesterday, and if U paid for of have another editor ( I shed a tear 4 U) U should give this 1 a try anyway
Overall, its unbeatable!!!

The 1 thing that I don't like ( If U can call this a complaint) is that the program is so robust that it will take ALOT of time 2 learn all if its features

I had used Photoplus XI for some time, this has similar buttons and does all you ask of it, and it runs on vista, the upgarde for photoplus was horrenducly expensive.

A good (and most important free) alternative to PSP, GIMP has a user-friendly interface, lots of filters and tools.
Cons
Sadly there's no help file with it and its animation package is quite dififcult to use (at least for me)
