Version: The Election 2008 Political Ticker 2.2.1
"Just Another RSS News Feed - No Unintstall/Spyware"
Pros: None - expect it annoyed ignorant reviewers that don't know what the Democrat tab is for (read into that what you will).
Cons: Worthless RSS news ticker, which you already have plenty of. No Uninstall is ALWAYS a bad sign. Sends profile information back to server before you can force uninstall. CNET should remove this app.
Summary: The bottom-line is that you can get this information in much more effective ways, tailored to your taste, without installing this overly intrusive spyware or adding mind-numbing diatribe here in the review section. The application is an RSS streaming ticker, nothing new there, but less capable than Outlook, Firefox, or the myriad of add-on RSS newsreaders available.
The application lacks an uninstall function, which is an obvious warning signal to anyone who has ever dealt with freeware/shareware.
When you force the application to uninstall via the Control Panel (OS dependent module), it loads an additional "unknown" appliciation (you have no choice in order to complete removal) that gathers profile data (check ur logs) and transmits it to the parent server and finally closes. It is incomprehensible to me that CNET would allow this application on download.com in its current state.
