This program's title speaks volumes about its purpose: The Logo Creator includes many templates for developing logos or modifying existing ones. However, the tool's time-consuming download and complicated functionality are hard to slog through.
First, the big 34MB installation takes a while to load, since it includes an enormous amount of PNG and JPEG files. Then you have to set aside more time to actually launch the program. In our tests, we managed to do that only after one hour of desperate attempts. However, designing logo has been made easier thanks to the "element setter".
Fortunately, your troubles won't all be for naught--the highly varied and customizable features can help you build a unique logo. Then, you can save the log as a template for re-use. However, the program is still too simple for professional logo makers, not to mention entirely too frustrating for those who wish to generate a logo quickly and easily.
From Laughingbird Software:
The Logo Creator by Laughingbird Software - create logos that look like a Photoshop guru spent hours laboring over. Super easy editing tools. You won't find any complex Photoshop-like icons to confuse you. Click on the text, you'll get your text options. Click on an image, you'll get your image options. With Laughingbird's amazing software, you can stop wasting time and money and start creating (and selling!) professional graphics that will make you proud. You can ALSO create web graphics, podcast albums, page headers, Facebook timeline images, and all kinds of graphics for your website, blog or social network group. It's WAY more than just Logo design software.
What's new in this version:
Version 7.2.6 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
Dont know anything about graphic design, yet I can make graphics for my site. One designer wanted $400 for a logo and his examples look just like the types in this software. Can do lots of things with text. Has videos on site to help be creative.
Have to buy add-ons but there are some good ones, like mascots and people so probably will. Worth it I think. Still way cheaper than anything else.
Well, it took me only a half hour to figure it out. It has a lot of things to activate your thinking. But the author sure has plenty of ads and "specials." I was offered a $7 price for the full product in the first two minutes of opening the program.
The Author/Owner, Marc Sylvester, is a graphics whiz, but falls short when it comes to writing things like a "Quick Start" or a manual. When "saving" a file, it doesn't really save the file, sometimes. It uses the name to create a new folder, which doesn't open. The workaround is to let the program put the file on the desktop, then move it where you want, manually. There's no way to search for "stars," or "trees," etc. You just have to look and look for things. The templates are very plain and non-inspiring. The many videos may be good, but none of them would start for me.
After working with the program for a couple of hours, I got use to the "almost" intuitive method of designing a logo. The multitude of numbers, letters, balls, and other objects (drag and drop style) are good to stimulate your thinking when you have a firm idea of what you want in a logo. The backgrounds and all other objects can be modified easily for color, size, and location. It's a huge download, but I had no problem getting it the first time, not downloading two or three times. So, I bought the program for $7 and made a logo, today, that was approved, by my wife.
There was no files when I opened the program after downloading it from here.
I downloaded the program. Declined all the extra bull. Clicked on Finish. A new window opened for the Trial zip folder. There was nothing in it! What a waste of my time. I need a logo creator but not this one.

I had to sign up for this site in order to submit my review. Not happy at all. If you want a good/great logo creator, I suggest you look elsewhere. I couldn't even get a glimpse of what the product could do since I received an empty file. pfft
"Free" as in you don't have to pay anything to look at it. Kinda like that Tonka truck sitting in the toystore window. You don't get to see the actual finished product in the setting you actually want.
The free version is fine for a quick, one-time/throwaway logo creation.
(1) No published documentation or clear explanation of how things work. (2) The look and feel of the app are childish. (3) Version 6 (the current) won't process version 4 files. So, if you spend a lot of time working up a set of logos, there's a reasonable chance you won't be able to change those logos in the future...this is an immediate disqualifier for any serious user. (4) This guy seems to be more interested in selling you more stuff than in getting this program to work right.
Not for the serious user--I uninstalled after 30 minutes.

Correction: V6 won't handle V5 files. Addition: V6 doesn't show as installed capability in either "Programs and Features" or using Revo Uninstaller.
