The Blockheads, at first glance, looks like yet another Minecraft rip-off, but it's much deeper than that, offering a fantastic 2D experience that works seamlessly on the iPhone's smaller screen in a way that even Minecraft can't quite pull off. The result is a game in which you can easily spend hours exploring, harvesting, crafting, and building, not just to keep your character alive, but to enjoy the world the developers have crafted.
When you start the game, your character is stranded with no fire, no shelter, and just the clothes on his back. You must explore the game world to find resources, and protect yourself against both elements and creatures that are out to get you. Everything looks very much like Minecraft, but it turns smoothly on the smaller screen because of the decision to go 2D, almost like Terraria but with the Minecraft-style layout. You can climb to just about anything, harvest wood or other resources, build shelter, boats, and more. The worlds you navigate are thousands of blocks across, have active ecosystems with weather and temperature, night and day, and there are many ways to build, including advanced technologies you will only unlock as you progress deeper into the game.
It's impossible to explain everything you can do in The Blockheads, but if you like Minecraft or other sandbox games with unexplored regions to uncover and make your own, this is a game you will enjoy. It is free to try and everything unlocks out of the box, offering a huge, open experience you can play on an iPhone or iPad.
We're working hard on a big update with new things, but for now this is just a small bug fix update. It fixes issues with buttons on new devices, causing some people to be unable to eat food.
