"Powerful and portable MailVoyager!"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 5.0.24
Pros
One of the most powerful email clients out there. Supports POP, IMAP, has HTML and PGP encryption built right in. Not as bloated nor as expensive as other clients with such a long list of features and options. My MailVoyager has been invaluable during my business trips.
Cons
Takes a little time to learn all of the options.
Summary
For professional users who need corporate security, flexibility, and portability without the corporate cost.

"No Nonsense Thoroughbred Performer"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 5.0.18
Pros
Great for retrieving multiple accounts simultaneously, terrific sorting and filtering capabilities. It seems impervious to cyber-attack. Very reliable.
Cons
It has a steep learning curve and isn't the most capable HTML producer but these short coming are a minor drawback to an otherwise stellar piece of software.
Summary
I'd give it a 5, however, there's always room for improvement and the Bat! team is constantly improving their gear. I recommend it highly. Been using it for over a decade, tried others, they just cannot compete.

"Software I use for 5 years"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 4.2.36.4
Pros
Easy, clear
Cons
Cannot find an option to send messages with built-in html. Maybe someone knows?
Backups - they act some wrong way. Difficult to customize their schedule.Summary
I like The Bat and I'm used to it. I'd like to try something new, but I can see no alternative at the moment.

"Does the job, well & unobtrusively. Worth the money."
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 4.2.23
Pros
Imports address books & messages easily. Defines & schedules backups. Drag & drop folders, common or individual. Multiple accounts (POP3, IMAP4 & MAPI). Select mail on server BEFORE getting it on board. Flexible filtering. Many functions. Reliable..
Cons
Austere GUI (for users of Poco or Thunderbird) or a bit MS-like (for users of Pegasus). Building a complex filtering system while keeping it efficient takes some planning, time, pencil & paper - and logic.
Summary
I've used Eudora until Qualcomm killed it in 2007. Experimented then with Poco Mail, Pegasus, Thunderbird and Opera. I'm using Outlook on a laptop. TheBat! was then (and still is, IMHO) as reliable as Outlook (but safer), as stable as Eudora (but richer), much lighter on resources than Thunderbird or even Poco (and faster) and much easier for dummies (like a servant) than Pegasus.

"Too "nerdy""
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 3.5
Pros
Powerful, flexible, gets the job done... if you want to spend the time to learn it.
Cons
No built-in HTML viewer (to bad); aimed at more technical ("geekish") users; expensive for what it offers; GUI not as polished as others; slow support.
Summary
I paid for TheBat and gave it a shot for longer than the trial. I went back to Barca from PocoSystems (I unfortunately question that company's future)

"My choice"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 3.99
Pros
Excellent usability, nice features, there're almost no problems. What else do you need? And it's really fast one if you compare it with outlook
Cons
Don't know why, sometimes it fails so i've to restart it.
-
"Very good e-mail software"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 3.99
Pros
Small handy e-mail software.
The best feature is the e-mail folder setting. You can configure every folder for you needs. I use it, to answer with different e-mail addresses and different templates out of different folder.
Cons
EMAP functions should be improved.

"The best e-mail program ever"
Version: The Bat Professional Edition 3.99
Pros
This is the best e-mail program I have ever tested. It is very flexible and allows me to do what I want. It should be nominated for a software Oscar, if one exists. Way, way better than other e-mail programs.
