"I liked it at first but then I started to see problems"
Version: The Bat Home Edition 4.2.36.4
Pros
Nice looking and a ton of tweaks. It was easy to import my address book and old emails.
Cons
It doesn't display incoming HTML emails. Help is not up-to-date with the current release. The forum is not deliniated by version so you get a lot of false hits for old versions of the product. You can't use a signature file. It seemed slow.
Summary
I was a Outlook Express user in XP before upgrading to Windows 7 and having to find a e-client. I didn't know how good I had it before. There just seems to be so many tweeks that are needed in an effort to do what you want but I just couldn't get to where I wanted. I couldn't edit html source emails in the client prior to forwarding. Some of the things that look good on the surface become very tiresome to do all the time. I found many instances where there were tweeks that you could make but only on each individual item, for instance, I needed to tweek each address to get the addresses to display like I wanted... each one individually... ugh. I couldn't make a single account the defauld for sending mail... it's the first account you create I guess. I guess I expected more from an email client that you had to pay for versus the free clients. Someone is going to make a killing win thes arena when they make a OE clone. Overall I think they are just trying to make a single program be all things to all people. Never happen.
