TeraCopy 2.01 User Reviews

"Fantastic in theory..."
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
Essential functionality for copying and moving files locally or over a LAN
Cons
In some situations, which are unclear, it doesn't do anything - neither through the drag and drop process or through its interface. Bizarre and unpredictable
Summary
This is an essential copy/move replacement for windows but in some instances it fails to respond. Therefore, it cannot be entirely trusted, which frankly renders it useless or potentially damaging wherever one expects it to have done what you asked it to do. Do not completely rely on version 2+

"great alternative to windows built in copy"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
checks that all files are copied so you dont miss something.
built in logging to see what you copied before exiting.
can copy files windows may have trouble with.
can exit and resume copies later.Cons
takes a while to figure out. the ui could use some updating.
not as necessary for vista/7 systems as for xp.Summary
much better than the windows copy but still not perfect.

"Terrific application for copying files"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
sometimes I have to copy files which are in excess of 100G - this app does it quickly and accurately
Cons
nothing I can think of....
-
"excellent!"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
worked as expected - terrific simple UI
Cons
didn't realize for a while that it simply overrides the regular copy and cut/paste in windows explorer. thought you had to use their UI.
Summary
use it! it rocks.
-
"Robust and reliable file copy/move engine"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
Reliable and restartable file copies and moves that prevents setting multiply copies off at once trashing the disk by controlling the flow of file transfers. An essential tool for anyone with large numbers or large files to transfer video/photography
Cons
If you use it as a direct replacement for all copy routines it can be a little counter productive on single small file copies compared to a basic copy. However a little understanding of when and where to use the tool and it's all good.

"Gives you control on your copys and moves"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
Installs in seconds
Clearly adds addtional copy and move options to the Windows Explorer
Serializes the copy ans move actions
Gives clear status of the current copy/move batchCons
Not sure that the copys are really faster
Summary
Not sure that the copys go faster with product, but they are safer.
One thing that I miss is an option to reduce to tray (instead of stopping the copy) when clicking on the "close" button of the status windows. This would avoid stopping the copy by mistake.

"Did not work"
Version: TeraCopy 2.01
Pros
No redeeming qualities
Cons
I couldn't get the interface to allow me to add a file source. No online help could be found.
Summary
For easy file moves get Xcopy.net; it's also free and it worked for me. See my review there.

Summary
Fast copier? I don't think so. I uninstalled it.
