"Good. Does what it's supposed to do"
Version: Techno eJay 5
Pros
I used techno ejay 4 for a couple years and was *forced* to upgrade to this new version (ejay 4 doesn't work on windows 7), which at first was a huge disappointment. However, after a couple of hours, I can say it's actually quite robust.
Cons
A lot of features are gone (or at least very well hidden) from its' predecessor. For example, in the old Ejay, you could maneuver the beatslots wherever and however you want. New version you have to alternate b/t copy/paste/delete.
Summary
Good, however I expected more. I wish I could write a full review on this product, but character spacing is an issue here. I started out with a great dislike for this new version (can't select + drag beats to where you want them - just copies them, sounds/beats didn't seem to flow with each other >even in the same genre) but have somewhat made peace with it. I rated it 4 stars because I'm sure it will continue to grow on me as it seems to have many, MANY advanced features to it. I plan on purchasing the full version soon, as the program is still worth it to me. It's a shame ejay 4 won't run with windows 7 (beat previews don't play from the pallet even in backwards compatibility mode), as it was the more preferable of the two versions IMO.

"Good program ive used it on Windows XP Pro"
Version: Techno eJay 5
Pros
This is a good product when you install from CD rom I ran it ON xp pro with no problem. I found the sounds to be good quality and easy to use once I got into it. My laptop stolen with the CD rom insde so I purchesed the down load version BIG MISTAKE.
Cons
The problem is that many download sites offer the product to download but not the whole program as it usualy comes in 2 parts then file are missing so have to go through the trouble of trying to sort it out program good dowloads bad.
Summary
Bottem line is the program runs ok when you buy it in CD rom format from the guys who made it.
Some of the older ejay software will not run on Vista so you need to check with the supplier. Before you buy dance ejay 6 make sure its the new version the old one is unstable and crashes in mid production. Most of the software will run ok on XP but you will need a fast pc or laptop to run some of them. Techno ejay 5 is a good program thats one of the reasons im tying to get a replacement. I have got most of the ejay sofware and not had a great deal of problems with them just downloads and dance ejay 6.
Its the hosting sites that take your money for a product that dose not even open after download with files missimgm come on guys get it right Ive wasted prodution time trying to sort your mess out and you get paid for it. cnet not included in this rant they have done nothing wong its the others that give the product a bad name.
