    "Worked well, Mac to Mac..."

    March 24, 2011  |   By pianomama7

    Version: TeamViewer 6.0.10162

    Pros

Clear picture of partner's screen. Easy to move about and select what you want. Hook up was pretty easy. Add their ID and password and bam! there you are!

    Cons

Little hesitant in the way things move. Not exactly like working on your own screen.

    Summary

I found it really easy to work on my friend's computer remotely. We were both, however, luck to have fast connections and the same operating system (Mac). I had tried to work with a friend's PC a while back but could never connect. Not sure if her dial-up connection hindered that or not. Disappointed in that one. Still waiting to find out what "free for noncommercial use" really means. My session partner had TeamViewer tell her she had two free months. So.........

"Finally I can connect remotely to computers with ease"

    February 5, 2011  |   By ddelg

    Version: TeamViewer 6.0.9957

    Pros

It's Free, can access any PC that you install it on. Log in and help your friends and other computers. You can even login via web browser and online. Transfer files any size too

    Cons

Non so far for my applications (non business)

    Summary

    One solution for everything
While most competitors offer different packages for remote support, remote administration, training and sales (and also charge for them...) TeamViewer is the one-stop solution for everything you need: TeamViewer includes all modules in one simple and very affordable package.

    Remote administration of unattended servers
TeamViewer can also be used to control unattended computers and servers. System service installations even allow remote reboot and reconnect.

    File transfer
TeamViewer comes with integrated file transfer that allows you to copy files and folders to and from a remote partner - which also works behind firewalls

    Highest security standard
TeamViewer is a very secure solution. All versions feature completely secure data channels with key exchange and AES (256 Bit) session encoding, the same security standard used by https/SSL.
    More information

    Online status display
Are your team members in many different locations? Need to present your desktop or collaborate on a document? In the TeamViewer partner list you can see who is available and connect with them in one mouse click.

    Remote support without installation
With TeamViewer you can remotely control any PC anywhere on the Internet. No installation is required, just run the application on both sides and connect - even through tight firewalls.

Remote presentation of products, solutions and services
TeamViewer allows you to present your desktop to a partner. Share live demos, products, and presentations over the Internet within seconds.

    Works behind firewalls
The major difficulties in using remote control software are firewalls and blocked ports, as well as NAT routing for local IP addresses.
If you use TeamViewer you don't have to worry about firewalls: TeamViewer will find a route to your partner.

    Browser based access
On the road and need to control a remote computer? Why don't you use TeamViewer Web Connector? The purely html and flash based solution can be used from nearly any browser and operating system.

Very competitively priced, free versions available
TeamViewer offers great value for low prices. TeamViewer even offers a free version for non-commercial use.

    Optimized performance
Whether you have a LAN or dial-up connection, TeamViewer optimizes display quality and speed depending on your network connection.

    "Hung up two computers"

    December 31, 2010  |   By GeneVB

    Version: TeamViewer 6.0.9898

    Pros

    Efficient screen sharing speed.

    Cons

    Not a stable product.

    Summary

After reading all the rave reviews hyping this over VNC, I installed this on 4 computers. On two of them which I use as servers, I tried opening the Accounts system preferences pane while TeamViewer was running, and the result was a hung System Preferences app which couldn't be killed. One of the two machines (a brand new iMac) I later found could not be woken from sleep and had to be hard rebooted by physically unplugging it (even holding down the power button didn't work). On the other machine, Activity Monitor hung, and neither Activity Monitor nor System Preferences responded to any 'sudo kill' (with any kill codes) from the command line and even 'reboot' got hung (though I can still ssh into the machine!). It too will require pulling the plug when I can physically reach the machine. I will not be using this product. I was able to install TeamViewer remotely by using VNC; I'll stick with VNC.
