"Don't install new version if you have older version"
Version: TaskUnifier 0.8.5
Pros
The older program worked nicely and integrated with Toodledo, but had a delay (30 seconds, then 45 seconds, etc.) if you did not want to purchase the license. At least usable.
Cons
When you install the new one it requires you to pay 11.99 to sync with Toodledo - and there is no other option. Without the syncing with toodledo the program is useless.
If you have the old one installed and you install the new one IT WILL END YOUR ABILITY TO SYNC with the old one (even if you uninstall the new one). I uninstalled the new one and the old one and re-installed the old version and it still will not let me sync with the old system.
This is really disappointing, because it WAS a useful program, and may even be worth paying something - but this price is stupid - especially for something that he bills as "FREE". (Again, it is FREE for the program, but the program is pretty useless without the syncing - which makes the "Free" claim deceitfulSummary
DON'T DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL this new version - unless you are willing to pay the 11.99 to sync with Toodledo. If you have an older version that you like, don't mess this one - it will mess up your older version.

"Best crossplatform timemanagement software (incl Linux)"
Version: TaskUnifier 2.3
Pros
This software synchronizes very well with Toodledo which is probably the most feature rich time management system, and the preferred system for Michael Linenberger's time management approach. Toodledo synchronizes very well using various mobile apps.
This software is the only software using on Linux which synchronizes with toodledo for offline usage. It is probably the most feature rich software under windows for synchronization with toodledo.
It allows to define advanced searches.Cons
Under Linux the system crashes when one is not using the Sun JDK - there should be a test performed to instruct the user to install this software.
The documenation could be improved (that for instance searches can be defined using the + button at the bottom).
Sometimes the user interface could be improved.
One problem is that some of the changes to the settings become only active when restarting the system.
The software is not fully free, but the costs for the toodledo plugin is cheap and keeps the implementor improving the software which has substantially improved in the last versions.Summary
This is the best timemanagement software for Linux which allows offline usage,
and probably still the best one for Windows (using Toodledo). -
"NOT FREE - once installed; have to pay $7 to sync"
Version: TaskUnifier 0.8.5
Pros
The software does what it says that it will do, even though it has the clunky fee of Java.
Cons
- The GUI is not up to par with current software from other developers.
- You cannot trust the company.Summary
This software is shown as free. However, once you install it, and you want to setup the Toodledo synchronization, you are told that you will need to pay $7 for the ability to sync. The $7 is a very small amount to pay for software, so it is not the amount that bothers me. Personally, I believe the software is worth the $7. The thing that really irritates me is that the publisher's description says that you will have the ability to synchronize with Toodledo AND the price is FREE. If this is true, then you should not have to pay ANYTHING once you install the software.
If you cannot trust someone to tell the truth about something like this, then how can you trust them to stand behind a product and actually respond to issues you might have with the software. I would steer clear of developers such as these.
