This simple utility enhances Windows' Alt Tab functionality by displaying screenshots of open windows along with their icons. TaskSwitchXP Pro's familiar Windows XP-style interface is accessible from the system tray or by using the conventional Alt Tab keys. The icons are arranged in a vertical list on the right, while a snapshot of the selected window appears on the left.
TaskSwitchXP Pro is extremely handy, especially with multiple instances of a particular application. The graphic display makes it much easier to choose the right window. You'll find an assortment of settings for customizing the program's appearance, choosing and defining hot keys, and accessing the program. TaskSwitchXP also is available in several languages.

"Works like a dream, and a breeze to use"

Pros
Hit the icon it has put in your system tray,& a small window opens showing a list of all windows you have open. Hover mouse over each one on the list, it highlights it and shows a small screenshot of that window. Click on the list to open that one.
Cons
Much of the documentation is over my head, but I've not really needed it for basic use.
Summary
I've experimented with virtual desktops, none did quite what I wanted (what I really want is the ability to see all my open windows on a split screen, and open any one by clicking on it, but it doesn't seem to exist). TaskSwithXP Pro is the next best thing. I sometimes have several Word docs open at once, and this program is superb for switching between them.
One month on & I still rate TaskSwitchPro very highly, it's one of the most useful things I've ever downloaded. I've since experimented some more with virtual desktops, Virtual Dimension was the best free one but I just didn't get on with it. I simply didn't want to go to one window for my PIM, one for my mail & browser, one for all my docs, one for imaging & another for tools, I wanted them all to be in one place. That's where TaskSwitch comes in, for it doesn't matter how many windows you have open on one desktop, a click on the icon will show you every one of them, & you simply click on the one you want to open it on top. This invaluable tool should be on everyone's computer (and I don't work for them or have any connection with them).

I have since discovered WinSplit Revolution, which does exactly that. But I'm still keeping TaskSwitchXP for now. -

Works great with multiple forms of Visual Basic. Basic functionality, does not seem to add more features than what I need.
Cons
can't think of anything.
Summary
I needed to replace the standard XP because I was doing some development work with Visual Basic 6. Without it if I had multiple VB windows open I could not tell which windows was which. I tried a MS powertoy switcher but it did not work well for my environment. This one works exacly how I need it to.

As well as providing alt tab features you'd expect it can also browse by open application groups and can have its view changed to show you what you want. In addition it has several other tools such as a minimise to tray function
Cons
Nothing to speak of I shall be using this instead of the powertoy from now on
Summary
If you want an Alt-Tab switcher which you can make your own, get it. If you don't want to fiddle with settings you don't have to it works straight out the box, try it, you won't be dissapointed

Cons
It caused serious problems with the operation of the PenDriveLinux Emulator. Which i like to use regularly. I've uninstalled this program.

I run two monitors with an extended desktop and this application did some funky stuff with my displays when I tried to use it.. I ended up trying, after a few other third party applications of a similar nature, the "Alt-Tab Replacement" Power Toy available from Microsoft and liked it the best.. Since I cannot provide a link in this review.. Google "Microsoft Power Toys" if you want to give that a try..

This is a simple small footprint application, works beautifully and gives you an enhanced experience when switching between apps. For better results, check the "use low-level keyboard hook" box on the preferences. Zero problems, 100% satisfaction!
Cons
I have no complaints!
