"SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! You want EASY CD-DA Extractor"

    by Hear4Sound on May 12, 2009

Pros: It does what it says, BUT download dot com is doing US a huge disservice by even having this program still up with it's great review! Easy CD-DA Extractor does ALL OF THIS and WAY WAY MORE for almost the same cost!

Cons: I BLEW $30 on this today... only to realize later in the same day that I should have got Easy CD-DA Extractor instead (or possibly Media Monkey). Buying this program is like buying a separate app to put periods at the end of sentences.

Summary: Wow... what a day it's been. Today was the culmination of many days of frustration in trying to get some old compilation CDs into my ipod. I found this program and LOOKED AT THE STARS RATING and thought "my prayers are answered!" But NO... do NOT make the same mistake I made. Read on... OK, after getting a bunch of my CDs into my ipod I find some songs simply named "track 1" or whatever... so I come here and find this program. HERE'S the problem in buying this program for $30... ALL IT DOES IS RENAME/RETAG TRACKS... which I was initially impressed with, but LOTS of programs do this in addition to a bunch of other stuff!!! (who knew?)

If you came here to rename/retag your music because you're putting it on an ipod (or even if you aren't ripping CDs)... the Easy CD-DA Extractor STILL works much much better! I'm bummed that I literally threw $30 away today on this... I WISH I had just done the trial period instead of thinking "yep, that fixed it"... because when I listened to my ipod I noticed that some songs sound better then others... and here's the deal kiddies... the mp3 ENCODER you use matters! I can clearly hear that the itunes (latest version 8.whatever) isn't as good as other encoders... such as LAME (bad name, good encoder... google it)... so anyway... if you get Easy CD-DA Extractor you get ALL THE FEATURES OF TAG & RENAME... PLUS you get a built in "LAME" encoder and basically EVERYTHING ELSE you could EVER NEED for doing this kind of stuff! All for less then $3 more then Tag & Rename... *AAAARRRRGH*...

So... bottom line... save your freakin' money... I wish I wouldn't have paid for Tag & Rename... considering Media Monkey and Easy CD-DA Extractor... this is a HUGE disservice in having this stupid program still for sale up here. I honestly HOPE that somebody posts after me and tells me ONE thing this does that Easy CD-DA Extractor doesn't already do better with the same FREE trial period and basically the same cost to buy.

Consider yourself luck you found my review... I WISH I had seen something like this before I clicked the "pay now" button... *ugh*.

And now, not even ONE week later... the program is prompting me to upgrade to the latest version. Wow... what a joke. I decided to see if Tag&Rename could at least easily update some old folders with album art... and the answer is NO... and yet, the program asks me to upgrade to the latest version... which, by the way, CD-DA offers FREE LIFETIME UPGRADES. Jeez... if I controlled this site I'd remove this program and replace it with a link to Easy CD-DA Extractor.

Sorry for the long-winded frustration. Bottom-Line is that Easy CD-DA Extractor does everything that Tag&Rename does... better... AND it does a lot of other stuff on top of it. Save your time and money... you can even free-trial Easy CD-DA Extractor. Tag&Rename is OBSOLETE and only catching random ignorant suckers like me. Don't make the same mistake.
